it has been in an accident lol, well quite a few at the back, none of them my fault like, but you can still see where its been repaired..... tbh value dosent bother me, as i dont think im going to be selling it anytime soon if im converting it!

ive been phoning cage fab' places today....spoke to a guy who knows you....erm fusion fabrication? he said he could do me one for £340, with two cross braces and the main loop behind the seats, and the diagonal bits...
im after a proper cage, not show, i want it to be functional rigidity wise....im not after a full one, just half...i.e >seats back....whats best, welded in? or bolted through the floor and bolted on where it diagonally comes down?
also, im after a strut, not one that bolts on top of the...

im a cheap ass, got them for a bargin off ebay though.....then had some subframes made, and bolted the sparco side mounts to those.....all been good so far

already got 172 back bumper with my prospeed cut in.....not gonna bother with the rest, i like it how it is at the front end....
you need D2S bulbs for your xenons, 4200k is standard i think....
powerbulbs.co.uk sell them.....expensive though, £70 a bulb i think! ebay too, make sure they are philips or osram though no cheapo makes....usually around £50 a bulb on there

i used custom made subframes, which are lower than the lowest you can buy.....then bolted the sidemounts to them, and the seats into the sidemounts...
i was told its VERY unsafe to bolt them directly to the crossframe, as they will just twist and bend in any soft of impact...

also, once theyre in, wrap some tape over them to hold them in place...
sometimes the lights may not go out straight away, just make sure all the pins are in and in contact inside the plug, and they should go out!
there is a thread somewhere, you just get some 3.3ohm resistors from maplins and put the pins into the connector plugs.....i did it on mine when i put buckets in and its been fine

buying the proper car and swapping bits sounds the easiest way....although it wouldnt be unique, as a 172 was never made in the color mine is :(
