Rapid contraction of hot metal causes stress fractures, if not massive cracks,
best thing to do is just leave the bonnet up and let it cool down on it''s own.
You may be lucky and got away with it, but i'll be very surprised.
Everything i've removed from my car was either for upgrading mods,
or removing the rear interior to dog proof the back, a happy coincidence is it's saves a fair bit of weight.
The only extra bit i've got is a spare starter motor.
That would certainly explain why a Dakota flew over the park where I walk the dog this morning,
probably on it's way to this thing after refuelling at Bagington.

Support the sump with a jack,
make sure you put a block of wood inbetween the two though so you don't dent or damage the sump,
then change the drivers side one first, you'll need a deep socket as the thread's quite long.
Once that's all done, support the gearbox in the same way with some wood...
