Re: cup weight saveing
Pictures shamelessly ripped from Mat's (fmp_'s) thread above...
This was a 182 - none of that tar stuff was fitted to my Cup at all. I think Jay said he took about 10kgs out of his doing this.
Re: cup weight saveing
Yup, that's a piece of it.
These two threads show member's cars being heavily stripped. I'm certain in each there's pictures showing before and after shots of where the sound deadening is.

Re: cup weight saveing
Wheels, aircon, ABS, sound proofing, glass, side airbags, no centre rear seatbelt, no rear seat split, no spare wheel.
That's about it I think.
Come to think of it...where are all the luxuries people can't live without that were removed?
;)
Opening doors, windows, boot, and whacking the non-aircon blower to the coolest max for 10 minutes before climbing in FTW
That's what I do.
I still can't see the fascination...the thought of spending 10 hours closed in with two others with no fresh air turns my stomach.
Airconned air has a...
Re: cup weight saveing
Nope, just binned it for a manual rack, far easier.
Really? Where from?
Yours is a 172 Cup?
They never had soundproofing fitted...that was part of the 89kgs saving over the normal 172.
Have I missed taking something off?
For the record, fog lights probably...
Do that, you'll never look back.
The difference in feel, with the higher sidewall, is noticable, but doesn't really affect anything else adversely [sp?].
Neither...
I think most of us that run specific track tyres, tend to run them on 15 inch wheels.
That's part of the reason why I run 15s, a far wider choice of rubber is available.
What are you on about?
That looks soooooooo much better than a tiny stone chip and a few dead bugs.
Wish I'd had one from the beginning for my Cup TBH. Love it.
Nope...you pay your money and wait.
When I was after a Rockingham layout but wasn't sure which one it was, I sent him an e-mail describing it...and he actually sent me two different layouts just to be sure I got the right one.

£1.99 for a small one.
£5.99 for a big one.
Mondello's on there too - very helpful, all mine have come from there and there's a whole load of options too.
That's relevant for road tyres, but track tyres tend to have stiffer sidewalls, so do not need the pressure to stop them flexing so much.
Lower pressure would generate and maintain heat better whilst giving an increased contact patch - and the stiffer sidewall keeps you pointing in the right...
Service every 6k miles from the word go with never any expense spared on what the engine might need. That and driving it smoothly seemed to have helped it along this far.
Nice video.
Make sure you've got it set in the options to 16:9 picture ratio when you transfer to the PC, then when you save it, make sure you do it as 856 x 480 resolution (I use Windows Movie Maker and normally have to increase the file size to do this).
That's the only settings I've found...
I find the tramlining and torque steer increases noticably as the tyres wear down throughout their life.
Also it does seem to vary hugely from brand to brand...overall the general 'feel' of the car is very sensitive to tyres and pressures.
Yeah I was out a 1630 with the camera on the rear window...but I forgot to change the tape before and only got about 5 laps before it ran out, of which the only usable footage I could find is in the compilation.
Shame as I was hoping I caught whoever it was that lost a bumper as they piled...
