Amen.
So true.
I don't think the modern generation of cars like the VXr, Focus ST, R32, S3 etc. can call themselves hot hatches; generally speaking they're overweight, overpowered family cars, designed to be safe, friendly, and rapid in a straight line.
HOOLIGAN - that's what a hot hatch...
I can see what you are saying, but it being a 'track car' isn't necessarily about its pace, or outright speed.
For me it's about how I can interact with it, influence its balance, feel what's going on, and push that little bit harder to try to just brush against its limits.
Also, having less...
Yep, it's the Panasonic TH42-PX70. Was an internet deal, a Store called Laskys.
I'll phone the Panasonic freephone number first I think, see what they suggest.
Not tried another input for the Sky box, but switching between HDMi and Digital Freeview gives the same lines.
Anyone had a problem like this?
Sending this away for repair is going to be a massive pain in the arse!
Re: Would you buy a 100,000 mile 182
Mine's over 93k miles and has got here from new without too many issues. apart from a broken wire recently and one didgy spark plug it's been almost 100% reliable.
So long as there's clear evidence that it's been serviced correctly and by a reputable...
Yep...bare metal interior and standard springs/dampers...it's even higher now since I've had the rest of the interior removed.
Airfield spec? The cheek! It's been like that for the last 91,000 miles ;)
I'm with Highway Insurance Company through Herts Insurance Consultants - confusing as hell as they're both 'HIC'.
Very modification friendly Mark, and if they ask if you subscribe to any magazines say 'Evo' as it marks you out as an enthusiast and is also beneficial.
Trackday cover included...
I can never understand why they put all that effort into the listing...but don't pay the extra 60p it costs for hi-res large pictures :S
As for wanting to be seen in it - I'd happily part with £500 in a second to avoid being seen in it.
Gashment of the highest order.
It's 'art' I suppose...
Don't know what mine weighs, but a guess is that I've taken approx. 50kgs out which should put me at about 970kgs.
I'll get round to dragging it all out of the attic at some point and I'll put it on the scales at work.
89kgs.
Back seats and spare wheel are the easiest/quickest gains, and it's completely free.
Don't underestimate how much things weigh either...my rear speakers and lower seatbelt mounts came to almost 7kg, and the front carpet/underlay was 9.5kgs.
The "resistance" to the throttle it isn't a problem, it's the engine's ECU compensating for the lower temperature at start up.
Mine has done it from new and for all of its 93,000 miles - it is standard practice for a 172/182 to do this.
Also the engine will gently increase and then drop the...
I was really impressed with the R27 I took around Brands.
At pace everything made sense, the steering weighted up, and feedback was more than adequate - enough so that in the pouring rain I reckon I was 2-3 seconds a lap quicker than I was in my Cup.
Very confidence inspiring.
I the dry it...
Conversations with my sister and a mate; both times went like this (talking about football)...
Me: "You should see the difference watching it on Sky Sports HD instead of normal SD - it's amazing".
Them: "What do you mean Sky Sports HD?"
Me: "I mean the Sky Sports HD channel on our Sky HD...
I'm sure there's the possibility of getting close to it Paul, however, the bottom line is the only reason we change down a gear is to make sure you've got the right ratio for when you need to accelerate again.
Brakes (not gears) are for decceleration, and to maximise that you need to make the...
In my opinion that could go either way with regard to blame.
Technically, the fact that you are indicating means nothing other than you signalling your intention.
Indicating doesn't mean you can then carry out a manouvere without taking further observation - it's just you saying "see this...
When he was competing Jackie Stewart stated once that the reason he was so much quicker than anyone else was because he was smoother coming off the brakes meaning he was more balanced as he entered turns.
More balance equals more grip equals higher exit speeds equals higher speeds down the...
Yep, that's the one.
The YouTube clip shows still photographs of the aftermarth, but there's a link in the description to a Russian website where the video clip is hosted.
Not graphic, but still quite disturbing.
