There are a few companies who will let you insure more than one car on a policy for the whole lenght of the policy.
However none of them seem keen on modifications.
This place http://www.primoplc.com/personal.htmhttp://www.primoplc.com/personal.htm will cover you on upto 6 cars on one policy.
Yep all Uk spec cars delivered from Renault Uk are. There fitted by the docks ther Cobra alarms.
UK imports can sometimes not have the Uk spec alarm and have others fitted. You can usuauly tell as there a seperate remote for the alarm.
Upgrading the alarm/imobiliser wont realy make any...
I think its the fact the 172/182s are going out of production isnt helping prices.
Especially with 182s going for £9k now and there supposidly superier cars.
That seems quite expensive its only a 1.9 diesel crank. Is it not possible to get one cheaper from a breakers yard.
Youve not been to lucky though with the engine. Things can only get better I suppose.
Not if he is to blame, you can be an uninsured driver but if somone crashes into you they have to pay.
Try j3ned on here though Im sure he will have a suitable bonnet in stock.
Thats just the price of the parts for a 172 conversion and Im assuming you have a Mk2 car?
Waste of time turboing the 172 engine might as well get a Velsatis/megan/laguna 2.0 turbo engine its a better turbo engine.
I think Freds spent £5k on bit and its not even started to go in his car yet...
You might find going to a new Megan hub setup at the front etc is easier but thats probaly custom work and difficult.
Spacer adapters is your best bet IMO.
No need for disks at the back there to small anayway so there not going to stand out that much.
Megan 225 engine is expensive if your...
Build quality much the same.
Id personally go for a cheap Mk1 unless you can get a very cheap 182. I dont think the 172 Mk2 prices have been affected enought by the 182 realy.
Yep definatly lower it Im of the ring next month lets see the difference the coilovers made.
Even if they made no difference timing wise they felt much better no roll on the road/track and it felt more composed at high speed.
Nope never did any harm to my car.
I dont know where these rumours started Freds cars lowered ~100mm and his has kinked but it was like that before it was lowered.
Maybe with very very hard custom springs hitting a lot of pot holes and with other suspension work it might put a lot extra load...
There two ways to take it out
1) Remove the cd changer which gives you some more space to tilt the thing.
2) Move the seat back and forth and the cd changer can come out on its bracket bit its a pain to do though.
All 172s should have it a number dont though Ive no idea whay maybe a bunch of broken LEDs were fitted most owners dont even know it should be there though.
Anyway its not an optimum as stanted above so its no huge loss.
The LED is the sign theres an alarm you cannot see the alarm box though its hidden in the dash if youve got the two little speakers on the door pillers and an LED on the gearshift are then you have a Renault Cobra alarm which is right.
You probably have to add on for pads and lines as well at that price.
Id suspect there selling you new disk pads fluid and lines for that price new calipers are about £120 each side without anything.
To check the gearbox oil park the car on a level spot then from underneith the car at the front of the gearbo c by the radiator youll see a little screw in plug unscrew that and then somehow pour oil in there if oil pours out already then its got enough it. My advice is to make a pipe with a...
Im so glad I own a diesel when these threads turn up.
47.5k on a 2002/52 plate.
Ive just paid a fortune for another 2 yrs upto 90k warently so Im going to get my money worth.
Thing is if my car was reliable it would be on over 55k by now so Im sort of gald its been at the dealerships a lot.
You have to take the pedal out to chnage it.
Its a right pain to do.
Disconnect the cable from the gearbox end to start with then best idea is to sit with your legs by the headrest and your head in the wheel well and work on it like that. You need to remove the retaining clip which holds the...
The diesel box should take the torque the 1.9 TD engine can make more torque than your engine does but its not designed to spin at 7k or so.
Id just get a Williams box personally or if you want to save some money a 16v box.
Your engine needs a certain amount of fuel and air mixing to much and the engine gets rich to little and he engine runs lean which isnt good either.
However there some tolerance a little more than the shymatic (or whatsver its called) of 14.7 air to fuel ratio and the engine makes more power...
£80 or so for 4 new plugs but they dont need replacing till 5yrs/72k.
Im noit sure what the problem might be Id not supect the plugs more likly the coils.
If you just want bigger disks you have the option of the k-tec kit for £250 which has bigger disks and mounting brackets fluid and pads etc which does look good Im not sure how much better they are Id say there were better but its not going to be 10 times better. If you dont use the car for...
Its some sort of 4*4 but judging by the springs there cannot be much movment in the suspension Id guess . However if youve taken that pic there must be some space still in the arches.
Maybe we should all be searching for the comapny who produce orange spring Im thinking Spax.
Bowler Wildcat...
