Cheers Fred, I posted the second time without seeing your post.
Gaz, I give in, I'll get it done.
Just a random question for you Fred, how comes it could be changed like that on my 1.2 but it won't work on my 172???
I can center it myself with the torx though can't I?
My question now is, what's the difference between changing it using the 50 torx or having it adjusted by the tracking or whatever???
FLOL! I thought you'd be along, my only issue is that I've been told my tracking isn't going to straighten up my steering wheel??? Or is that utter tripe?
I just don't get what I could done in changing the ball joint to push the steering out??
I'm changing the top mounts too, and the chances...
I think magh is correct, I've just been out and taken the wheel off, but unfortunately, I don't have a t50, so I'll have to get me one.
I'm pretty sure if I undo it, I can adjust the wheel and it'll look/feel right.
I watched a mechanic do this to my ph1 1.2 when I first got it and had less...
You can buy some nice sets off here pretty cheap mate, just wait until a set of ph2 172 alloys come up, or a set of late dynamic alloys (these are the same as the ph2 172 alloys, just an inch smaller)
Alternatively, if you're looking to get something new, and want to go as cheap as possible...
I have an aftermarket wheel, I was just going to un-bolt it, then bolt it back on straight, but this isn't going to solve any problems it may cause. :P
Rob, you knock down the wall, I'll drive it round when you're done.
Insurance, che-ching.
Ok, so this may sound like a silly question, but how have I done this?
Basically, I changed a ball joint with MikeB off here, got back in the car, and the steering wheel was about 15 degrees off centre?
Have I bent something (track rod)? Or just knocked something out? i.e the tracking or...
I'm thinking the second one tbh mate, if I didn't want to move out so bad I'd just buy something new/not french.
Was going to call you tonight actually and see if you fancied changing my top mounts with me as I now have all the bolts etc, only as I don't have all the tools needed to do it...
Condensor then I believe as it was pissing out air from where I showed above, which is right by the rad yes?
Going to cost me a small fortune yes?
Easy to change if I can get hold of one myself?
Basically, I need to know what I need to change.
Went to qwikfit in the hope of having my aircon topped up today, only to find it had a leak, before putting dye through, to check where the leak was, the bloke and I had a quick feel around the engine to see if we could locate it.
We did.
Air...
I found there was quite a prominent difference, especially on value, and at a guess, they're less stealable.
Nick, you know wiring, and unless you're nuts, you just change the dash surely? I intend to do mine.
When trying to insure, make sure you check specialists, and ask for quotes with and...
You were such a chav Danielsan!!
Nick, unfortunately "ok" is still going to be just over 2k I reckon....
I'd try get a ph1, if you're set on a mk2 or what about maybe a mk1 valver? should be cheaper and still would be great fun.
No way to "check" without recipts/stamps for work mate, simple as that, if you do a search you'll discover this has come up several times, and unfortunately the only way to sort it is to fork out the cash to have it done.
I don't use the chassis rails or whatever they are, I use the big bit of metal that bolts to that, subframe is it? It's pretty obvious what it is, rolled outwards at the edges a bit, got a few bolts going through it, get the jack sort of in the middle of the rolled out metal so it's not going...
Are the wheels supposed to be "cool" in some way Malice?
(Not joking btw, just know nothing about this "scene")
I only ask as I don't hate them, I can imagin it looking better or something else?
Good work again though, really enjoying reading this thread.
Alpine units always seem to be head and shoulders above the rest Mr Seb.
I'd contact MT_Audio, 1) because he's always willing to help, 2) Because he can normally sort out a good deal on things :)
I love the location photo map on the new iPhone!
Random I know, but I'm very impressed, all of my old iPhone's memory and the places I've been/photo'd on a map.
