Very nice mate, my only negative comment is the alloys, on which we agree, are gash. lol!
Love the colour and its a good spec, my friend had the golf version of this, bought the petrol (1.8t) and now wants the diesel back!
Apart from sounding like an ice cream van these are mint. :)
All systems are vaccumed etc before filling anyways aren't they mate? Not really much chance of finding one on a car, this one is coming from a decent breakers with a good rep, and if it makes you happy, I'll keep it in my airing cupboard for a week ;)
Jeeebus woman.....
Door handles - Door card off, there are two 13mm (iirc) nuts holding it on, remove the rods that the handle pulls to open the door and these nuts, should just come out.
Back bumper strip - Jus clips out, may be easier to take bumper off so you can lever the clips from the...
Quick bump on this, does anyone know off hand how the condenser is connected?
i.e is it bolted to the surrounding pipe work or is it all one piece so am I going to have to cut the existing off and have it braised?
Seriously?
Sandpaper will smooth them, you just need to start with a quite harsh grit and work your way down to a paintable grit, 800/1200 or something.
I've heard of most people start at around 100grit or so, if you find this won't take the pattern out of the plastic, then get harsher, it's...
There's not actually a definative one around, but as I'm currently doing some bits with the guides I may get in contact with some of the well known faces on here and set about making one up for us.
Sorry I can't be of more help, but cheers for the idea.
If I were you, I'd have a go at CC'ing the plastics myself, due to them being quite small in surface area (height wise), you could probably do a very nice job.
If you fail, go sand them back in about 10 mins and then matt black until you can have them done properly.
It's 100% in the prep.
Glad you sorted it, VW suspension is weird man, when I first that I was like WTF!!?
Get some wheels on it and get it CC'd, stop tarting about with roof racks etc. They'll make the biggest difference by far, IMO of course. :)
Hey there mate, from those who have had it done, most really recommend it.
I intend to have mine done soon (when funds allow) combined with a remap there are often some good results :)
JMS offer this service, but they are a fair way from you.
Despite having never met the Fred, I've read more good reviews and got more solid, definitive advice off of him than any other person on here. The bloke is obviously VERY good at what he does :)
None taken mate, I'm no mecahnic, I was just curious, as the car still (sort of) drives fine, so I just thought changing the wheel back could be a temp fix until I've fitted the top mounts. (as its seriously annoying to drive off centre)
Also, are you still selling those washers to stop the...
