LOL I've never seen your face (it's your helmet, gets me every time).
Looking forward to burbles on the overrun - I'll have to get out and do another 0-100 clip to see if it's improved.
I've just unwrapped a Yozzasport decat
Tomorrow afternoon, and my date with Mikey big hands can't come soon enough.
I've already got a K-tec stealth fitted...with the decat as well, am I going to notice much difference?
Power/torque curve?
Noise?
OK...after the above speculation...here are the facts... ;)
Tyres give their best grip when they are slipping a little, and that applies to both cornering, acceleration and decceleration too (ever heard the term "slip-angle"?).
When braking, a tyre is giving it's most grip when it is...
I love Elise's - I'm a member of Lotus-on-Track so get to play with them on track every now and then.
A properly sorted decent spec one that's well driven gives me a very hard time.
Then you get some, like this one, that you can just reel in ;)
Performance wise, it's very close - you've...
Still on original tyres but they're trying to sting you for front discs and pads?
Tell them to go ahead with the work.
Tell them that you'll watch them while they do the work.
Tell them that you'll want to check the wear of the removed discs.
Tell them that if, as expected they are...
Well that's exactly what I'm hoping for from these.
I had DS2500's on my last track outing, and they were toast after less than two laps, good for day to day but not up to track work at all.
I'll be doing my best at Brands to cook these, but having said that, I'm braking a lot less these...
Splashed out a little and treated myself for the upcoming Brands day and fitted a set of Pagid Blue's at the weekend to get them nicely bedded in over the next two weeks.
First thoughts? Very surprised!
For such a race focussed pad, and with it's extreme operating temperature range I...
RenaultSport cars with Cup options are now a fairly staple part of the Renault range...with the Cup bit almost being a brand in its own right.
It might not be a serious lightweight, but I'd bet my left knacker that there'll be some form of Cup options available for the 197 in 12-18 months...
Wasn't there talk of the MeganeSport being upgraded to 250+ bhp?
If so, that would leave space in the range and heirarchy for a nice Clio 220 or something...?
Could that be why they all feel strangled and weak? Because they've been held back from producing the power output they're capable of?
I've never run out of fuel on a track day, and I normally get home as well, but in 3 days at Goodwood over 3 weekends, the one weekend I ran Tesco 99, I ran out on track (stuttered and coasted) mid afternoon. Read 11.7 mpg compared with 14.2 and 16.8 (rain all that day).
Without blowing my...
That would explain a huge amount. When the front's on my Cup get below about 3mm, it really changes character, and darts about a bit.
Bet you wish you'd fitted new boots for the test now eh? ;)
OK then, I'll try again...(apologies in advance for the condescending tone but this topic does get a little tedious, and hopefully, by explaing in simple terms, people will come to appreciate that there are genuine financial benefits...unless you live miles away from your local Optimax stockist...
Optimax gives me an extra 7 mpg over Tesco 99, and 3-5 mpg more over BP97 etc.
I get through over a tank a week, say 70 in a year, each being about 9.5 gallons on average.
So it costs a few pence more, but I get in excess of 3,000 miles a year extra out of it.
Coupled with it's cleaning...
