You CANNOT compare a race engine to a road car engine. A race engine gets rebuilt every year, HAS to be warmed up etc. Sure it may not break, but that's because the owner's replacing everything on a regular basis which simply wouldn't be acceptable for a road car. For example Chip's pistons...
Well from Mk.2 to Mk.3 the clio gained 30bhp in total, now Renault have moved to a turbo'ed lump and (the standard car) has no extra power. It would've been nice if Renault introduced us to the new turbo lump by giving us more power.
As for 300bhp out of a 1.6, I can see reliability issues...
Unfortunately mate if I try to pull it further west people don't tend to go, the eastern lot can't be arsed to drive as far as us lol.
I'd like to organise a Cornwall meet at some point though. Possibly a recurrance of the Truro meet that was held early in the year.
JUST A HEADS UP.
The September Barn Owl meet (one after next) is being cancelled. We are going karting in Exeter the next day, Saturday the 7th of September. We'll be having a meal and a chat too so still feel free to come along!
