Don't get HID's for the full beam, it kills them if you keep switching them on and off.

Yeah like I said before the picture makes then out to be a lot brighter than they actually are. They aren't anywhere near as bright as the pic shows. Same with the high beams. Night breakers are fantastic for the high beam.

Yup. They also fit the interior light (the version with a map light) and a s**t load of the Mk.3 interior lights, door lights, numberplate lights etc. Just fitted a pair of LED high beams. LOL. They were quickly removed.

This. If it is insured as mapped, then just tell them it's been returned to standard. I can guarantee it wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference in a crash and I doubt they'd check it either.

Also check the HT leads aren't shorting out against the block, if you take the cover off and look down the spark plug channels there shouldn't be any sparking.

When you say sort out the fogs on the loom, do you mean incorporating them into the stalk control? The connection that the fog loom plugs into isn't there on my car.
