Yep...watching it back I was in 4th from lifting to let him go by and I'm normally in 5th before st. Marys.
So I went for a gear that I was already in, hesitated, missed my turn-in, then turned in too hard and lifted a little at the same time.
Watch it out there people, I thought I had it...
PMSL at the comments...you would have liked it even more yesterday Malice!
Trackday insurance? Never bothered...If I do more damage to my Cup than I can afford to put right...I'll give up trackdays.
I'm working on the video of my best lap at the moment...when that incident happened I was...
How many miles has it got?
Mine, now on 50k, is a totally different animal compared to when it had 20k or so on it.
They get so much better with age :D hope you enjoy it.
Ha ha ha...no damage whatsoever, but the car smelt bad all the way back to the pits!
It was bad enough that I felt guilty about getting the session red-flagged (by the time I got back to the pits, everyone else was stopped at the start line)...but then they made me drive round to where it...
Umm...great day at Goodwood today, dry, sunny, freeeeeeezing...and I just forgot that I don't weigh 500kgs and sit 50mm from the tarmac like Caterham's do...
9mb - 30sec clip - right click, "Save As..."
That's a great pic...doesn't look like you've got too much understeer in that one!
You could try altering the tyre-pressure difference front to rear to help.
Renault recommend 33F + 30R, but I've always run the opposite. Softer at the front helps it to dig in and the back with higher...
I'd say if you're careful 1 litre should be enough.
I gave the garage I use 2x 1 litre bottles for a complete system flush/bleed, and I got one bottle back unopened.
Get used to it I'm afraid.
After 50k, mine still do it pretty much every single day in this weather, and have done since new. Doesn't affect anything (other than your ability to pull away without lurching like a learner driver).
I'd say A539's too.
The Falken 451's can't be all bad either...a couple of the marshalls at a recent trackday compete in the Castle Combe Saloon Car Championship...and they run on, and recommend them.
I think I've been very lucky with mine...passed 50,000 mile this week, and the only rattle of got is the 4k heatshield (which I like)...the inside is completely 100% rattle free and has been since new.
That's after 10+ trackdays/airfield days too :approve:
I'd say go for it...you get...
Nice pics :D
You've got to work hard to keep an S2000 on the boil...we (me and a few other RS peeps) were pushing them along at a Brands day earlier in the year.
Nice vid...very tidy mate, very tidy.
You're smooth with the steering, accurate and consistant with your lines which is the main thing...keep going round like that and the speed/later braking comes naturally.
Just got to work on heel & toe downchanges to stop unbalancing the car just...
^^^ exactly...some people just don't get it.
I can have just as much of an "evo" drive in my wife's 1.6 Zetec Focus as I can in my Cup...it's not about power/performance/whatever...it's about the experience, the feel, the feedback, the smile on your face, the fact that you turn around and go...
It's Megan :D
Not sure what the rumbling was..all seemed OK'ish on the way back. I'll have a serious play with the hubs in the morning and see if I've lunched a wheel bearing.
GuyS - anyone crash? Almost almost every session someone went off, including a Cooper S Works fella who was so...
The day started out really nice, with a good chance of the sun drying the track out, then mid-morning the rain came :( After lunch most of the standing water had gone but it was still greasy since the whole track was resurfaced about 4 weeks ago.
Had a couple of good runs this afternoon, but...
The pads rust to the disc regularly...pretty much every day for me at the moment. The sound for the first few minutes is the rust being cleared from the surface by the pads...nothing to worry about...they all do it.
Well, mine has done it for every one of its' 50k miles anyway, and it still...
