Ye no worries Dave. Literally lift up your bonnet. Look down to left of engine below front grille and you see your starter motor with a spade connector on it. Pull it off. Spray some s**t on. Clean it up and re fit. Easy.
That's what the AA man did before I knew what the problem was.
I know none of it shouldn't of happened at all but Let's be glad that it was a small minority and not the majority of the drivers on the parade lap. I don't think it will happen again anyway.
Gave it a good clean at mates house yesterday. Used his hd wax which I think is awesome.
Took my bullets off too for first time, was filthy underneath. Cleaned them up and got some exhaust cleaner on them, worth a try. And they came up really well.

This happened on my 1.2 before. Was the little spade connector being corroded. Gave it a good clean up etc and worked fine.
When it wasn't working it wasn't turning over at all or no clicking. Hope this helps.
