182's have a wider track than 172's, the non cup 182 uses 172 hubs though, whereas the cup has stronger hubs. To upgrade a non cup 182 shocks you need 172 suspension with camber adjustment or just fit some 182 cup hubs and do what you like. The rear is the same regardless.

last very well, wet and dry grip is superb - wouldnt even consider anything else when I had the 182. I got something like 14k from a set of fronts then put new tyres on the back and rotate them, 30k on the back or so.
Have them on my 1.9 gti too and used to run pilot exalto's...
probably, they have the option of stocking both parts separately or the discs with bearing in them (suits some meganes too) might just be to do with what they have in stock.

they dont wanna spend their labour pressing the bearings by the sound of it, amtex on ebay is GSF £150 or so posted with bearings genuine renault parts
