my 205 gti had a meta system fitted aftermarket, i found the manual and it told me. sounds obvious lol but u got a receipt, place of purchase, idea of how much it cost? etc etc is the keyfob, immobiliser key different looking? something might give it away

is the service light on at the same time? if so check that the brake lights are coming on as soonas you press the brake pedal, otherwise might be brake pressure sensor calibration issue that's common, mines had it and been fixed.

incidentally, arnold clark offer servicing for life for about £300 anyway I think, but are perhaps not the best people to be servicing your car... they're alright when it comes to fixing things when you tell them the problem, but they arent so great at fault finding IMO.

defo under £12k if it's on nearly 11k miles you could get one for under £10k a bit older on the same mileage
