they auto adjust and they take account of the load in the boot too. Theres a little linkage attached to the rear beam and the floor of the car, when the boots laden it adjusts the beam down. I broke the wee linkage going over a plastic bottle at about a ton, woops! warranty man is so naive...

A lot of cars - such as Saabs and Mercedes you can get removable swan neck tow bars, i.e. not visible from the back of the car when youre not using them. I presume youd need to weld something onto the car to do this, exhaust is right in the way on a 182. If using this type of tow bar you dont...
