Cheers mate, yeah i owe him a few £££ after doing it for me.
as for the red wheels they will be going on when its finished, only because they have good tyres
hes a pic of them on his van
cheers mate appreciate it
cheers, i would have loved to. but as mick said really didn't have time...
cheers for the kind comments.
but i really don't understand what's not to get about it.
its pretty inexpensive for me to do this so why not. when its finished and on the road it will be still a lot cheaper than a mega mint 172.
all the perishable parts have been replaced. bushes belts etc...
would you do this to a mini

i think not
cheers
its been said i think twice now back in the thread.
Sport shell was damaged. lots wrong with it etc engine needed overhauled so rather put it back in a bent shell i put it all back in the 1.2 shell with some better parts added.
so essentially i have a straight shell and fresh parts...
Tonight's updates

Done a couple little things myself aswell, painted badges and fitted my alloy footrest:
Alloy footrest...
Blue 172 cup black turinis big exhaust
Taymouth street, sandyhills/tollcross
Was working on the house at the end of the road and saw the car. Anyone on here?
looks great mate, not to keen on the mugen grill but will reserve judgement until i see the other carbon parts.
I know a boy that has a champ white jdm ctr and has lots of carbon bits. Bonnet/boot/spoiler/splitter etc and lots of other mods. Looks great but i must say they look better standard...

heres my project thread for my black non sport mate have a look at that might inspire you.
now its butchered up and reshelling my sport into it, seen here ...
in every way you are correct, you could just save for a better car when the time comes. i wish i had
but at the same time he could have an awesome looking 172 replica and drop a 172 engine in it at a later date if he wanted.
or just sell the parts off it when the time comes, most likely make...
Correct, hence why the boy probs wants to make a rep and why a lot of people do so for first car.
buy a 172 if you can afford the insurance mate, a lot less hassle than buying parts fixing them then getting them sprayed and fitted etc
if not then just go for it if you really want to.
yeah should all be fine. 4 bolts underneath the car to get seats out
only problem i had was undoing the clip underneath the seat it was a pain in the ass. but should be fine with some persistence.
Think it says on the side bolster of the seats? maybe an oval patch that says airbag
im not 100% sure but thats the best place to look.
or there may be a little tag on the seat that says airbag. just go have a look about your seat see if you notice anything that says airbag.
Don't think so mate should all just be plug in and play so to speak.
unless you don't have airbags in your current seats, like if its a 1.2 8v campus or something you shouldn't have a problem.
fitting a headunit in my mates car. Clio Campus 1.2 8v 57plate
its a kenwood KDC-3047A
but after inspection it looks like i need a cable to connect the headunit to the original wiring loom at the back of the headunit.
so basically there is 2 cables that come from the car that need to...
Took the trip to knockhill today to see the jap metal that was on show today, as im a big fan.
was not that great a turn out as there was a car show on in edinburgh that i didn't really fancy.
anyway heres some pics from the event, not great as just from my iphone.
God i love tegs...
oh and as for ride quality they were better than my apex -60mm shocks and springs. but still pretty crashy as you would expect for the price you pay.
well worth the money though.
my old non sport on rokkor coilovers
as low as i could get it at the back with the cup out.
had plenty to go down on the front though.
and ive not forgot about getting you pics of the wheel btw, just have not been able to get upto my workshop.
cheers
