Honda CRX, some car! I nearly bought a 1.6 non Vtech when I bought my 205gti but it didnt have any history and sills looked a bit rotten!
The standard ones pre 92k plate I think are 1.6 16v which push out 130bhp but the V-techs came after that, need I say more?!
Very comfy and cool interiors...
I like arctic, but then again I bought one. Not too keen on the racing blue personally.
I wouldnt say that Arctic Blue 182s are common, but the guy at my local renault garage always assumes its a 172 cup!
182s arent exactly common cars now are they... (unlike minis!) Inferno is a lovely...
You cant enjoy your car then if you feel like that, I think the power steerings a bit too light - which makes me uneasy sometimes but the car feels stable when youre blasting the old b-roads.
But the cars capable of pretty high speeds, I find myself doing 70 on bends where Id have only hit 60...
Makes me laugh when folk get excited about these new 200bhp front wheel drives like astra and new golf and even the new 250bhp civic theyre predicting - imagine how little traction theyre gonna have and how much torque steering theyll suffer from.
1st aint very good in everyday conditions, 2nd...
whats the definition of retro anyway?! mk1 clio isnt retro, renault 5 monaco and / or turbo is more retro.
Cortinas are retro as are Capris and stuff like that, old mini and old beetle are retro.
new Ford GT is retro, new beetle and new mini is NOT RETRO
all in my own opinion...
205gti isnt just hype, look how many of us whove had them and take our word for it, legendary car.
Its not all about speed, 115bhp and 0-60 in 8.4 seconds (1.6) might not be the fastest hot hatch ever but it felt amazing driving it, turn in is the best of any car Ive ever driven. It handled...
The renault ones cost £140 / £150?! You gotta be jesting me thats crazy money for what they are. I dont particularly like how you have to stab a hole in the carpet to secure them either!
Ive seen them on ebay several times, maybe Ill buy them next time to save £100 odd bucks!
Well i had a 91 J reg 1.6 205 gti no cat, 115 bhp bog standard, handling was phenomenal, forget power steering etc its a big go kart and a true classic.
I sold it for a profit even after 2 years driving, muahaha :devilish:
1.9s are reknowned for snapping out when you over cook it on the...
in 91 / 92 youd get a last of the batch special edition 1.9 205 gti with electrics, leather etc, an 80s hot hatch which was probably still the best at the time!
Definitely my fave
Ive only ever noticed ABS when Ive put my brakes on on snow to see if the ABS actually works, paranoid...
So I wouldnt worry too much but if you drive fast then its nice to know its there, you never know when a deers gonna jump out in front of you...
60% of the full price? They say after 3 years the 182 will retain 40% of its value i.e. 40% of £15,500 which is £6200 after 3 years.
60% of £10k is £6k, you got a bargain!
Well I imagine it could be amplified by the use of 95ron fuel seeing as the cars supposed to run on 98ron. If the ECU has to r****d the ignition timing to run on 95ron it could well make this more noticeable. I for one tend to just use 95ron and notice my car is pretty rough at idle when cold...
I got my 182 on one of these monthly payment + final payment thing. I dont plan to keep it when the 42 months are up, the cars been given a guaranteed value I think 40% after 3 years or something so I could pay the final payment (£4500) and then sell the car privately for £7k or something.
I...
Just curious as to what people would put in their top 10 car garage?
