Some decent cars in this budget that are much newer than some of what has been suggested. Things have moved on a LOT from the old S3/LCR...

Octavia vRS? The 2.0 one, not the 1.8. For £4k are you getting into the newer Leon too?
Those S3s look ancient now. Couldn't bring myself to spend £4k on one. If you're not that bothered about performance but wanting a nicer car to live with, I'd be wanting something newer than an A3 from the 90s.
The technology will undoubtedly become more widespread, not that wealth guarantees mad skills of course.
Once they're being driven by make-up applying, ditzy women and oblivious middle aged folk, carnage is almost guaranteed.
That's it. Features like this are great for responsible drivers. The problem is, most drivers are just not even close to responsible. If they were as common as a Fiesta, I do have to wonder how many incidents there would be.
Interesting times anyway.
Quite. The problem with this is that it is just another way that the driver can pay less attention. While he should focus on the road ahead and be ready to take control, how many mongs are going to pay next to no attention and mess with the iPad thing? Calling it Autopilot probably wasn't the...
Calm down dear, it was a turn of phrase. Besides, as I recall, it was the car that drove under a truck, not the person in it. Should he have been paying more attention? Abso-f**king-lutely but, as I posted above, it makes me question whether the tech is r****d proof yet.
As I recall, Tesla...
One killed a guy in the US didn't it? Drove him under a truck? Impressive, but not sure the technology is mature enough to be encouraging people to let go of the wheel yet, especially with the number of mongs on the road.
They do seem to be chucking a lot of free stuff at people at the moment...
It does make me laugh that people keep telling us how evil people are if they date to use a mobile phone in their car, while car manufacturers are busy sticking massive bloody touchscreens in the dashboard. Totally mental.
That's precisely why it's cool. They haven't done what BMW did with the...
Are you off the Meg forum by any chance?
Getting a VIN shouldn't be an issue. If it's the Clio, adding lights etc is easy enough. Big question is if it would need an IVA, but the DVSA could probably advise on that. The things that may concern me with an IVA are noise, emissions and stupid stuff...
I can see the argument. With the rear beam being stiff (relative to the ARB) and with stiff spring rates, the effectiveness of the ARB will be limited. My personal feeling (I was an engineer once upon a time, albeit not so much in the ride and handling area) is that I would rather use a softer...
My rally car has both. I've not tested it on a misted screen yet, but the T7 heater I've fitted sounds a bit weedy, so I have no idea how well it will work. Heated screen usually clear quickly though, so that would be my preference I think.
I would never do anything to alter how a diesel engine sounds to be honest. They sound a bit pants as standard but, as soon as you start modifying the exhaust/intake, they sound 1000% worse. The number of modified VAG diesels round my way, they just sound tragic. Remaps and the like I 100%...
4am? f**k that 😂 We got to Aberhirnant at about 6:30 and managed to park fine, we weren't far outside the "car park" at all. We tried to go to Gartheiniog for the second run but were turned away. There were cars just dumped all over the place next to main roads, but it was apparently...
I was out in the forest on Saturday. The crowds were crazy. We couldn't get to one stage and were told you couldn't park within four miles of it. It seemed to really draw the crowds this year. Looking forward to next year already!
Did Gus Greensmith used to drive an R2 Fiesta run by Simon Mauger?
I used to have Contis on my 172 and thought they were good. Did a couple of wet track sessions on them and I felt they performed very well. When buying tyres, wet grip rating is one of the things I prioritise. The weather can be very mixed in the UK (especially north of the border!) so it seems...
Car looks much better with your changes! Not 100% on the colour of the wheels but they look much better than the 17s.
The warning light could be lambda related. Does it flash? Mine used to do that. It was called the "toxic fume" warning light or something silly in the manual. New lambda sensors...
My Megane has Recaro seats and I regularly do 100 mile drives in it with no problems. They look quite extreme, but they're actually very comfortable :)
