It's a tough one. I can see why people want to preserve them and, with them being sensitive to rust, I can see the caution. But, at the same time, the thing that makes the car so special is the way it drives, so it's a shame not to enjoy that element of it to the maximum.
Like I said, if the...
I go to quite a few Ford shows and when I see the concourse area filled with Cosworths and MK1/2 Escorts, I feel a massive urge to steal the keys to one, do a load of donuts in a muddy field and then give it back. I think some of them would actually cry if their car got mud on it 😂
I hear that. I've had a couple of cars in the past that needed a lot of looking after and I ended up selling them very quickly. That was also part of the reason why I bought a higher mileage, well-used 172 Cup. I'm not interested in polishing and keeping it in the dry the whole time, I just want...
Get it sold if things are tight. It's only a car at the end of the day. Houses, kids etc etc are all more important. It's just an excuse to buy a better toy later!
It does look well. Needs some vinyl for full-on race car points now. Are there pictures on here somewhere of the sill stand points being fitted? I assume that's what the holes in the skirts are for?
I love how understated the car looks from outside but, when you see inside, you see how much work there is in it. It needs panels on the doors though :P
I think that's the bit. You're right, the wording is a little vague, perhaps not quite so clear as I remember, so you could probably get away with it.
Common sense would probably have it mounted where it could be reached easily though. If you were upside down with your weight on the belts, it...
It says in the MSA blue book that you should be able to reach them when strapped into the car. Though I suspect many cars have them mounted where people can't reach them.
While I see your point, there is a certain oddness in the way that they go on about originality in one episode, then throw modifications at a car in another. Saying that, the sale thing was a bit of a farce anyway, with it going back to the original owner.
Morettes on an Escort Cosworth isn't...
It's an American show now. It's based in the US, so they don't care about us anymore. I enjoyed Ant's enthusiasm, but it's typical of this sort of show now, more so than it's ever been. Endless repetition is the order of the day sadly.
Yeah. Was surprised he replied to be honest, but he seems to engage with people quite a lot. Brewer seems to spend most of his time getting attacked lol
They interviewed one of the designers for the show didn't they? The third spoiler was considered for the production car, but was canned. I posted on Twitter that it looked awful and Ant Anstead replied saying I should watch it before I criticise lol
