I suspect it isn't, as I would think it would be from a five speed box, assume another type of JC5.
Just trying to put together a comparison of the ratio options when you start factoring different final drives and the like!
Yes, can be a minefield. Someone I know (MattJB on here) bought a ph2 172 for a few hundred and it has been very reliable, whereas my £1350 172 Cup has had to have quite a bit spent on it, though I have done a lot more miles in my car.
Saying that, parts cost pennies, so it's not the end of the...
Been doing some searching on this but not turned up much. Lots of people talk about different fifth gears and final drives etc etc.
What are the standard Clio 1*2 gear ratios? Can someone just post a list of what they are, including the different final drives for the ph.1/ph.2?
Also, for the...
looks good that, should go fairly well.
My friend has a boggo GTI that he uses for track days. Only cost £350 and it's been really reliable. Good little cars.
Do like these.
How do they compared with the 1*2s in Class F? Are they all pretty even? Wondered if the fact it's a bigger car might be a disadvantage.
23% off the new price? Where? Not that I am a huge fan of the M135i myself.
What kind of mileage would you need to do to get a Golf R for £250 a month? Most I've seen are more like £300 a month over two years. For me it's more like £350 a month because I do c.15k per year.
The Megane Cup-S is...
I like the Kia, a lot of car for the money. I think the Clio 200 looks a right minger by comparison.
I looked at Golf's recently and they are very, very expensive in my experience. For a boggo GTI on PCP it was £450 a month over three years. A Skoda Octavia vRS, which is the same car, only more...
I was looking at the Megane Cup-S as there are some tempting lease deals around on them, but they are pretty poverty spec sadly. Put the Climate Pack on and it makes it a bit more bearable, but I think I would regret not having the Recaro seats at the very least.
The extra width definitely adds something, and your ride height helps too of course.
Yeah they are definitely nice wheels. Think they would suit the Mondial of my car a bit better if they were silver. The paint on them isn't perfect, so I might have them powder coated some time perhaps.
Yes I did find the gearbox in the 200 EDC very frustrating. I haven't driven a Trophy to compare sadly.
I drove a Golf R DSG last week and the gearbox was very, very good. Obviously the R is pretty pricey, but you might get a nice GTI for sensible money?
Well, with a new car coming soon, the Clio is going to retire from duties as a daily driver and probably become a full-time track car. The Turinis were in dire need of a refurb, and running 15" wheels makes much more sense for track days. I bought these a while ago and thought I might as well...
Quite smart looking in the blue, looks a lot more tasteful than the old one.
Being a total 500 Abarth noob, what's the difference between a normal one and a 595? And a Competizione?
I think it depends how much you're going to use it. I don't do a huge amount, so wanted something that was ok, but didn't break the bank. I also use it for work on occasion too.
We're going back a couple of years now, but I bought a used Canon 400D on eBay that came with a couple of lenses...
I've known a couple of people to have MK3 MX-5s and I wasn't really impressed to be honest. The interior looks ok from a distance, but once you get into it, it all feels a bit cheap and nasty I found. The ride was always pretty terrible in the Sport models I went in, as bad as my lowered Clio...
I would think you could just swap over the whole engine loom etc, but I'm sure someone on here will be able to advise you. I suspect it won't be as hard as it sounds :)
I think the easiest approach would just be to buy a ratty 172 and swap the whole front end over. Your car is pretty well stripped now so, if you think about it, you're halfway there already!
I have been thinking about this thread (I don't know why!) and I am beginning to lean towards the opinion above.
Are you determined to stay in the 1600 class? The problem is that someone in a boggo Civic already has a huge advantage over you.
I wonder if you might be better just fitting a...
