Between the gearbox and the subframe, on the underside near the front, visable from the passengers wheel arch if you remove the wheel and pull the arch linger back

DCi Wide Track Conversion, What driveshafts?

na subframe is the same fitment, RS one does have the mounting for the 4th engine mount that the non Rs one has but you can just drill that anyway, I believe the RS one might be thicker from memory but I cant remember. lower arms are interchangeable though I know that much!

    torsion bar

yes they do but the mk2 onwords doesn't have the same setup as the mk1 clio/saxo/106 etc that are a pain to lower! they use springs instead to set the height

    19 16v

I remember when I first joined here, loads of people had these along with the clio 16v's seem ultra rare now!!

DCi Wide Track Conversion, What driveshafts?

got a set of 182 arms, hubs, brakes, suspension, ARB for my DCi 80, just wondering do I need the driveshafts? I remember something about 172, cup, 182 all using different shafts is that correct or is it just the cup that had specific shafts? what about ABS do all clios have the same amount of...

Does anyone know what this is ?

didn't someone actually find the engine had more low down torque with it fitted? I might be wrong but sure I read that a couple of years back?

    Mk2 1.6 engine

cracking engines, the reason they weren't very popular is because people that wanted performance went for the 2.0 16v, people that wanted cheap running costs went 1.2 16v or 1.5 DCi so you had the 1.6 in the middle that wasn't very fast and wasn't very cheap to run! for the money you pay for...

What is your next car & why?

Potential new project: Car -> Van. Questions.

id rather convert a car than buy a van for a couple of reasons. 1. you get cheaper road tax, the cars are £20/£30 a year compaired to the vans which I believe are well over £100 2. you get the choice of the 80 or 100bhp engines where the vans are all 65 (think the later ones might have been 70)...

cool, what about how it drives, spool up a bit quicker?, granted mines is an 03 on 150k, 11yrs older than our mk4, but I find the mk4 spools really quickly, id like a little more response under 2k, not that it needs it just something I think it would benefit from

    Clio 65 dci Intercooler

standard then no, I didn't notice any difference, worth while if you plan on remapping though

    How to drive it?

Tow it is the only way to be worry free, if ur not towing it just drive it normally and dont worry about it, it it happens it happens, you would be very, very unlucky if it happened again to you!!

    Martin's DCi 80

update: MOT ran out a month ago, it sat in the drive and I used the cup every day since its been pretty dry. Booked an MOT and thought ill just scrap it if it fails badly, local place is known for being pretty strict with MOT's got a phone call that afternoon to say it was ready to collect, not...

Best handling set up - daily/track use (mainly daily atm)

tyres are imo the most important thing for these (or any for that matter) cars. my favourite setup ive ran for the road (excluding the trophy obviously!) was a ph2 172, Michelin PS3's refreshed front end, 172 cup dampers and eibach sportlines (the cooksports get a really good name but ive yet to...

    Speaker Replacement Clio Dynamique 2005

there is a slot under the speaker grill on the door, just stick a screw driver in and leaver it off, this gives you access to the speakers, 2 (I think they are T20) torx screws hold the speaker in.

    RENAULT DCI

we started cliodci.net which later became renaultdci.net after DCI office vanished overnight, it was busy to begin with then everyone moved on, no new members joined and now its dead, still a lot of good knowledge on it, just no new stuff being added!

Choices! Low mileage 172cup vs high mileage trophy?

however dont buy ab expensive cup, buy a rough one and tidy it up, all in you will have a cracker for £2k-£2.5k

Choices! Low mileage 172cup vs high mileage trophy?

i own both and to be honest have considered selling the trophy and keeping the cup as i dont mind using the cup properly, i hate putting miles on the trophy or risking a stone chip on it!

    Standard, Mapped & RSTunner ECU

it was a custom map with different injectors that only RS Tuning have managed to perfect. I get where your coming from though, must be an easier way that the ECU can be re written but not read from!
  29. Martin_172

    Standard, Mapped & RSTunner ECU

paul at RS Tuning used an RS Tuner to map my car so that the map was locked and no one could download it from my ECU and "steal" his map. Makes sence.
