I am a bit concerned that they are 'throwing in coolant' as if it's a perk. It's a requirement as you kinda don't have any left... I had one in with tippex all over it today. Bolts cross threaded, over tightened, missing. Was a nightmare!

Bear in mind I charge £675 for cambelt, dephaser, aux kit, oil, filter,water pump and coolant, and all of that would be genuine parts. Your getting charged far too much IMO. Ask to see the cam locking tools if you want to let them do it. If they are silver (probably laser) they will not be able...

Sounds like the squib in my experience. You really need it diagnosed with a specialist who has clip to be able to see what the buttons are doing.
