    why 197 cams on a 1*2?

    you wouldn't get 200 on them on their own. Dan's made 200.0bhp on them with an RS2. I think Dan's was mid 190's on the standard matched inlets.

    Well it's specifically wheel related if the noise stopped when you changed wheels, hence why vikk I suspected wheel nuts.

    I've had 3 in from a garage down in Plymouth now. Each and every single one has had the crank timing out massively. One was actually rolling roaded at 150bhp. I corrected it and it made 185.

    You can't buy pattern lower arms for a 1*2. So you have to buy genuine, so you won't get those dirt cheap. You'll need to fit 1*2 struts, hubs, drive shafts, brakes, track rods and ends, anti roll bar.

    Gearbox hell!

    That's a ph1 gearbox in it anyway. Is the car a cup? If so you need either a 129 or an 089. If it isn't a cup it'll be abs driven at that age and you can also use 182 gearboxes that are jc5 130.

    Sorry yes meant to say are they both hot. If they are then it's likely to be the mixer flap getting stuck in the cold position (unusual, as they normally go hot and nothing else)

    They closed down a long time ago iirc. Ben was a fountain of knowledge! They'll be decent cams if he fitted them.

    Don't use a jack on the hub. Your making life difficult doing that. When I said jack up the other side, I meant the other side of the car btw. Ps, I'd have only charged an hour to do this!

    Jack up the other side, this will ease the pressure on the arb. Then if necessary lever the wishbone down by putting a bar between the arb and wishbone.

    Haha, it's why I set up SJM ;) The bolt comes from the alt bracket/inlet manifold. Goes through from front to back.

    The long bolt is from the inlet manifold. Yeh copper slip is fine.
