I had the same thing a few years back at same revs 4000rpm It did sound like it was behind dash or engine bay, reno had it in 3 times trying to sort it turned out it was exhaust baffles collapsing inside it. was a common problem on std exhausts they changed mine under warranty eventully ! !

Thanks for advice :D have used it last two days and has got a bit better .yes fan was working. do use it fairly regulary thru the year tho must just have lost gas will probly end up gettin it regassed thanx again for advice. it is cool now tho don't seem as good as it was .

got a complete 172 mk 2 engine mount with uprated bush and housing made by vibra technics for sale if anyone needs one see car parts for sale section want £40 . straight swap fits perfect. :)

you need a long swan neck spanner put the allen key thru it to sop the piston turnin when you undo the nut.

If its your baffles gone in your centre section and not done many miles speak to renault uk if stealer wont do it cos they say its a wearing part . Mine went at bout 11k and they said the same to me until i spoke to renauult uk they then changed it FOC tHis is a common problem on std 172exhausts...

Have seen a few pics on here of ff172/182's that have polished inlet manifold and injector rail guards and painted engine covers just wanting to know if this was machine polished or done with drill flap wheel or what ? Does inlet need to be removed from car to do this I know injector rail guard...

Is it possible to fit esp or cruise control to mk 2 172 ? just wondered if anyone has fitted either or both to mk2 172 . Do they all come pre wired from factory and you just need switches and steering wheel or do you need new wiring looms or a different ECU ? anybody know if this can be done or...

Its your car battery mate , only way to cure it, mine did it last year constantly, changed car battery and it aint done it since!! you wont think its your battery as car will start fine and battery readings will all be normal but when you swop the battery it will work fine. changing your dash...

Has anyone fitted these poly mounts to a 172 ( bottom dog bone mount) and what are your opinions ? Are they easy to fit ? Do you get any vibration inside the car as they are harder than the std mounts ? Gotta change mine as its shagged but dont know weather to get these or just another new...
