Are the Powerworks and some of the JR kits not draw through? The injectors would remain next to the head but it would have the TB before the charger.
With the charger needing to spin around 15,500 it'll most definitely need cooling!
A bov is a simpler option, something like a uprated Bosch...
I'd be happy if it was around the 220bhp mark tbh. A bit more than I'd get if I go with ITBs but more torque (I'd hope it was around the 195/200lb/ft mark).
Most importantly though its much, much cheaper. Especially if it'll run quite happily on the standard ECU which is something I need to...
Re: Ph1 172
Cheers dude :)
Got my AST strut tops through from Cooksport. I'll get them fitted with the new bearings and strut bump stops. Then turn up the camber :)
You've got budget - Vmaxx. Midrange - Bilstein or BC. And top end - AST
Then there's Weitec, FK, AP, Spax, GAZ. Reasonably priced but not something I'd go for. KW are decent but if you're paying out for the V2 then you may as well get AST
In my 1st car (1.6 Escort) I came around a long sweeping bend at some speed. As I came around there was a Honda CRV in front doing half the speed limit, jabbed the brakes and the back end came right round.
I ended up going completely sideways down the road with 1/2 the car going with traffic...
It should manage ok at 7000 pushing 400CFM. But no more really. As for power output I'm not certain.
At that level 10PSI is possible with a 15% reduction pulley. It would basically put the charger at its 'happy' limits, the Mini guys push them a bit further.
My only concern would be whether...
Stu is running over 300 on the sunflower with the standard ECU. Need to have a chat with Paul at RS Tuning as he mapped that.
Probably because its a larger Rotrex and provides lots of air. The M45 might make it make power for longer than an N/A equivalent on the standard inlet. But on the...
Standard MLS gasket.
I was thinking of fitting an Eaton charger where the alternator used to be and running about 8psi. If I use the standard M45 pulley (65mm) then it'll provide enough air to give 8psi at 7000rpm with the charger spinning at 13,500rpm. That's enough as the power drops off then...
I noticed a huge difference in mine before and after the engine work. But I did other things at the same time such as take some weight out and shortened the gearing slightly so its a combination of all that really.
The engine mods cost the same as an RS2 inlet, but now I've got a rebuilt head...
Best N/A torque will come from cams, ITBs, headwork (port/polish), 182 manifold and a straight through exhaust.
Mine is 184bhp and 173lb/ft on the Dyno Dynamics rollers at RS Tuning, that's with Piper cams, headwork, ported inlet, 182 manifold, sports cat and KTec exhaust.
Another car of...
Has the master cylinder got four or two output lines?
My guess is it'll have four so the two front brakes will have one line each.
For the rear you have options depending on the proportioning valve. If that's one line in and one out then you need to T the two rear lines from the MC to the...
Re: Ph1 172
Weighed the F1s when I got them off, 7.7kg.
Turns out the Pro Race were ET25 not 35 so that's why they were a bit heavier. Got that sorted and got them on now :) They are 1kg lighter each than the OZ but stronger too and a better offset so the spacers have gone too.
Went to see a...
How much work is it swapping a subframe over on a 172?
I'll be taking the hubs and struts off soon so I thought whilst the suspension is off it might not be much more work taking the subframe off.
Make it compulsory to have no insurance. Problem solved.
We all know driving at speed involves risk, we accept that but we shouldn't have to accept the insurance cretins chasing us down.
Last time I did Oulton I had a spin at Lodge. Car behind was quite close but I controlled it well and got...
What disc size are you looking at?
I've got a photo on my pc somewhere from a thread on here where a guy had the 300mm hi-spec kit under 15" 2118.
The wilwood 295mm kit fits without spacers iirc
I don't know how people find the time to play games so much...
Popped in to see my mate for 10 minutes today and he's finished his, 34 hours gameplay in 3 days. I manage to get about 34 hours game time during a whole year.
