Not massively different, there's less roll but they're not that stiff really. the Bilsteins are a nice ride on the road. I've heard a few people saying they're too soft for track use though.
Looks lovely, can't wait to have a go of one of these, just need to get my name down at the local dealers after I've taken the 1.5dci Dynamique out for a spin.
I've seen quite a few normal Clios about and a few STs but no Clio 200T.
Thought about a remap? The Nissan Juke remaps to around...
Cup shocks + cooksport springs. When you go lower you alter the geometry negatively. In which case you may as well get super budget coilovers for form over function.
See how much the cheapest Ktec ones are with the 5% discount.
Re: My PH1 172
Update on the AT power kit, £1450 for the DTH bodies and Storm ECU. I'm waiting on a reply to see if that is inclusive of VAT, they also need to check the Storm ECU is suitable. Won't be plug and play though.
I'm quite happy with my £270 suspension, nearly new cup shocks and top mounts and new Cooksport springs. Nice drop, rides well on the roads. Takes abuse well and it'll last. No need to set up the ride height as its fixed.
Could be stiffer but for road use its pretty much perfect. You can really...
In my opinion, yes.
What they don't have is damping adjustment. However if it just for road use, or even just the odd trackday now and then they are fine.
Very nice ride, good quality and will lower it more than you'll need.
This ^^^^
There's no real point really taking it past where you make peak power anyway, I change around 7-7.2k to make the most of the torque band.
I'd look for a minimum of a 13 row oil cooler but if you can fit a bigger 16 row or maybe even 19 then it will help keep temps down. A...
That's why I used a flow calculator. Otherwise it would have worked out as more.
The above example is 15.2% more flow for a 33% increase in pressure. So it's the same as what you're saying... X% increase in pressure gives 1/2X% increase in flow.
If I was to get a set I would want a monotube damper with adjustable damping.
Obviously it'll cost a little bit more than an inferior twin tube setup (Gaz, Spax) but its still not astronomical... http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?714337-BC-Coilovers-(supplied-and-installed-£770)...
You could fit a Bosch 4 bar pressure reg. That takes the injectors from 250cc/min to 288cc/min. Or the Pug GTi-6 had 267cc/min pico injectors, slightly more but not a great deal.
When/If I get around to doing ITBs next year then I'll pop in a 4 bar FPR before mapping.
My costs were:-
Quaife with crownwheel fitted £910
Full rebuild, everything replaced £420
Supply of a 4.07 final drive £120
Gearbox delivery £20
If you can get a cheaper rebuild and already have a 4.07 final then costs will come down a bit
If I had both to choose from it would be the Clio. The Corolla is more grown up though.
The Corolla isn't a bad car at all, its just not as fun. It lacks torque and really needs revving. Once you're up in the RPM thought it goes well. Its heavier and it feels it and it doesn't feel as tight as...
My input has been favouring the Quaife as I have no experience of a gripper but a friend of mine competes in the XR Challenge and will quite happily run a Quaife or a Gripper, he does favour the Gripper for competition though, its a bit more agressive and works if you happen to have a front...
I am in the process of sorting it all out. I'll be getting Ultraleggeras instead :) which I know someone has weighed at 5.7kg. So 1.8kg lighter than the ones I've got.
I bought a set of these in 15x7 expecting a weight of 6.2kg as advertised. How come they weigh 7.5kg?
I know that weight is for the ET45 offset and I've got the ET35 but that doesn't account for the 1.3kg extra.
I'd like to understand where this extra weight is from so I can justify sending...
Re: Ph1 172
Well I am not happy. The wheels turned up quickly and they are all fine but they are heavy.
How they can sell something that weighs 7.5kg when its advertised as 6.2kg I don't know. Where do they find an extra 20% of weight from.
Wish I'd have plumped for the Ultraleggera now.
I'd...
1 litre is enough. I bought 2 last time it was at this price. I fitted braided hoses all round and the system was drained completely. I've got 1 left over as a spare.
