JC5 130 has the circlip bolted in place, JC5 129 and lower don't, being a cup your car is more than likely a 129, the 130's are also non speedo drive so if your box is a 129 speedo drive you can't swap it for a 130.

You'll need to climb in the back and unscrew the plastic cover on the boot, it's one screw, then you just pull it off as it's secured with poppers, inside the boot is a metal bar that moves the lock, you'll need to push/pull it to get the boot open. You'll more than likely need a new solenoid...

They shouldn't be scraping with new shocks at all, the springs set the ride height and the shocks just damp the bumps out so the back doesn't bounce around and Cooksports don't lower the car that much, where are you in the country?

Anti roll bar bolted to the subframe, pretty easy to find it's the long bar that connects to both wishbones.

The springs don't get removed to put new shocks in, I replaced mine before I knew anything about cars, it's a simple job that's pretty much impossible to screw up, unless your springs have somehow become unseated, but they'd have probably fallen out by now. Have you actually had a look at them...

No problem, JC5 129 it is then if you actually need a new box.

If you look down the back of the box they'll be a plug coming out of it with wires attached if it's a speedo drive.

If you do need a new gearbox get a JC5 130 the circlip is bolted in, that's if your car runs a non speedo box.

I bet the oil leak was from the gearbox selector shaft seal and the reason it's gone bang is because it's all leaked out and the box had ran dry, my old gearbox did exactly the same thing but at 70mph on a duel carriageway, bang and the sound of metal grinding and fusing together.

Fixed my haunted passenger door lock that randomly decided when it wanted to lock or unlock, turned out to be a loose connector so I jammed some card in to keep it in place and so far it's working. Although whoever decided how the door cards should be attached need shooting, poppers yeah no...

Sounds like something in the gear stick has broke, there's a lot of plastic bits that could easily be broken by a decent whack.
