Bit of a rush to get the car finished in time to depart for the Nurburgring on Wednesday morning. I've been flat out at work and not had a great deal of time to get the last bits sorted.
This weekend to do's:
- Gearbox Oil (Redline).
- Gearbox Dog Bone.
- Lambda Sensor.
Should all be sorted...
Looking for recommendations.
My milltek sits a bit low for my liking, what have you guys used to bring this up or adjust this?
(Old pic but still valid)
What a difference!!!!
It’s like a different car. At the top end of the revs it’s not much different, but the mid range and throttle pick up is like a completely different car now! It’s soo much smoother.
Wasn’t my favourite job to do tbh, but I’m mega glad I did it. What a difference!
Got some snotty jobs out of the way today.
Removed the inlet and fuel rail guard.
Genuine injectors, but some look to have seen better days.
This one in particular looked pretty borked !
Shiny shiny
Fitted up.
Old plugs. Again, genuine. And not in bad condition to be fair...
Exhaust leak, fixed.
I’m really surprised by the difference adding the flexi has made. It’s removed a good amount of resonance through the car. There’s also no rattles or knock anymore.
Also quieter in the cabin in general.
Car feelings like it’s fuelling better now as well.
Win win!
Had another belter yesterday.
Turns out that I have a 3rd line engineer who can’t stand pictures of fish. Our head of infra told us this info, none of us believed him, so when he was on a teams call we kept sending pictures of trout, salmon and basically any other fish from Google.
He threw up...
Plenty of people like the pbs pads. I think they’re spot on for the money tbh.
Mileage does vary though, ofcourse. And each to their own.
Brakes only slow you down anyway.
One thing worth noting,
CL’s absolutely annihilate your wheels . They’re definitely more fierce than pbs though, imo. They’re also harsher on discs, if you care about such things
More financial reaming 😵
Seemed like a good idea just to replace the lot.
Plugs
Injectors
Leads
Lambda
Coil pack
Inlet gaskets
Redline box oil should arrive tomorrow as well 👍
Getting her prepped for a bit of a road trip to Germany at the end of the month
I'd imagine the ratio on the 197 m/c is different for the brembo's.
Worth it for feel if you're running the aforementioned but otherwise I wouldn't bother.
Hi guys,
Can you tell me what diameter the manifold tube is that joins at the flange. I’m looking to have a flexi welded in place and would rather not have to jack it up again.
Looks like 2.5” to my eye tape measure 🤔
Thanks in advance !
