Keep it below the magical 5k rpm and yeah you get good MPG from them. I actually only put an extra £5 a week in my Cup than I did in my previous car (shitty 1.8si Escort)
If it's mainly motorway miles you'll hit that kind of MPG easily, town driving and spirited driving will drag it down obviously. I managed to hit 55mpg in mine when I drove to Derby from Manchester but I drove like an O.A.P.
Although you can't fully rely on the French electrics to tell you the...
I took a punt and bought a 2nd hand off Steve79 off here. Only paid £25 for it.
EuroCarParts are suppose to sell them but when I rang I got told by a dizzy woman they don't sell them but I'm sure they do. Last time I checked k-tec's site they were near £80 including delivery.
Driving home from work yesterday and I heard a strange noise, then about 2 seconds later I heard something hit the underside of the car. Pulled over and had a look underneath and all around the car (didn't lift up the bonnet).
Anyway got up this morning lifted up the bonnet and noticed the...
Lol! Just like me then, I had the decat pipe on for about a day, apart from it giving me a headache it was embarrassing to drive with it being so loud. Also drove 190 miles back with it on in that day as well.
On full throttle I couldn't hear anything apart from the exhaust, even with my...
Sorry mate, didn't notice your questions in your post before.
The level of oil currently in seems to ok as when I stuck my little finger in the hole it got covered in oil, not sure how old it is as the previous owner would have done any changes/top up.
Found it :approve:
Got there in the end, glad there seems to be plenty in there as I wouldn't fancy fiddling trying to top it up.
Cheers for the advice.
Hmm, I think I'm missing the butterfly clip, found another hole which is attached to the gearbox but it's pointing towards the right. There's definitely no plastic clip anywhere as I've looked all around the front of the box for it.
Tried searching on here but there's no pictures with the descriptions of where to top the geabox oil up or I couldn't find any.
In the pictures, is this where the gearbox oil is topped up?
Which exhaust did you run your decat with Henry?
Mine's basically a k-tec supersport but it sounds different to a standard k-tec system for some reason. It's raspy how it is now but with the decat it got that raspy it vibrated everything in my car. (car's rear is stripped)
Really liking that, if I can get mine anywhere near like that and I'll be happy, also I'll be able to use those cover bolts I bought from you once I've got my engine cover :rasp:
Cheers mate! Noticed yours in your Avatar, it was actually one of the pictures I saw which inspired me to do mine.
Have you got anymore photos of yours?
Thanks mate! I wouldn't like to guess how long I've been at it to be honest but it's seemed like a life time lol, especially because I'm just doing bits a few times a week.
I know what you mean though, I was in same mind set (wanting to give up) but once I get my engine cover I'm hoping the...
I started using the dremel at 1st but went over board with it which made it 10 times longer to get the finish I've got in the 3rd picture lol. Think I'm just going to stick to using the wet&dry for the plenum. I was using Autosol at 1st as well but with this polishing kit I've got you can get a...
Not sure to be honest mate, it's at the discretion of the dealers whether they charge you or not.
Don't know how much your headlight washers would cost but when I had my offside CV Boot replaced at Renault I was charged £55 (reduced rate)
