Lol. I was just passing through, never been up that road so I thought I'd go up there. It would have been around 7ish I think.
You'd have heard me before you saw me now I've got Kev's old exhaust on my car :D.
Lol. I understand where you're coming from because it gives a bad impression but it could be just down to the fact the guy's a lazy typer?
I'd never touch a Cat C/D car.
They tend to last about 3 years, you'd be better replacing it with an after-market exhaust (stainless steel). Never have to replace it again ;)
The exhaust I've just taken off mine looks similar to that.
Just realised something strange. While under my car fitting my exhaust I noticed there was a pair of nuts and bolts just before the cat.
Looking at the pictures of the de-cat pipe for the 172 the pipe just runs from the cat to the manifold.
My question is are standard cat pipes on the 172s in...
Unless money's no object, do what's been previously said in this thread. Buy a cheap run around i.e 1.2, build some no claims and driving experience.
Pointless paying stupid amounts on insurance.
It could be something of nothing, how loud is this squeal? Could be wind noise at that particular speed. Sure I've read on here somewhere some of the RS's suffer from this.
Again the same with me, I've driven to Derby and Crewe recently and it didn't do it once. Went to work this morning (short journey) and it did it all the way there.
Yeah! It'd take them 2 minutes to burn them off. w*****s!
They use to be alright, always use to go there for little jobs I needed doing. Won't be going there again.
Tried that one, wouldn't do it because I wasn't having an exhaust fitted by them. Wouldn't even break the nuts and bolts off.
I've managed to get the nuts off now, just it got to dark for me to able to get it fitted.
I have the exact same problem mate, exactly the same symptoms as you. Mine started the same way as yours too. (knocking the drivers window up puts the right indicator on).
Always does it at the worse possible moments aswell doesn't it?
Attempted to fit my exhaust I bought last night but I couldn't remove the nuts that hold the centre section of my standard exhaust to the cat.
Managed to loosen one of the nuts but the the whole thing just spins, both ends are rounded and it's near impossible to get them off with the limited...
Has the yellow painted diamond in the middle aswell. If only I could justify spending another £200.
Anyone interested in some rough looking Turinis? :rasp: lol
