picked it up today, what a car! its certainly no hot hatch however its got a nice big lump of torque when you need it, 6 speed box is sweet, suspension is super firm but works well, loads of grip, looks good, loads of toys, you could get lost easily in the menu on the screen lol
yeah 1.5 dci 106, a few guys in portugal are running them standard bar a map at around the 150bhp 230lb/ft mark but no way would i be pushing it that hard 130/200 would be a nice daily figure for me, my 100 was running around 125/190 odd
my dci100 was on par with my mrs 1.6 16v clio so id say the megane being much heavier and 10bhp down on my 100, and the 1.4 only being 10bhp down on the 1.6 16v, then the clios going to be quicker
ive done s**t loads to them over the last few years and my advice is, people will tell you dont touch the engine do suspension and brakes etc. im going to be different, as much as i can understand where they are coming from ill say this...
They handle spot on out the box, the brakes are...
you ask on this place how to make your car quicker and everyone says brakes and suspension, then you do the brakes and everyone says overkill. how can something that stops you possibly be overkill. next we will be getting told Toyo T1-Rs are overkill and we should all be using mohawks
i do have the ph1 for flat out performance driving, however i dont want to fall asleep going to work, hence why it had to be something with a bit of renaultsport about it!
pics of chebs out in the clio GT
polo and golf both have the usual vag chassis that does not apeal to me in the slightest and i doubt 15k would have got me the range toping diesel, with leather, climate, cruise, handsfree, uprated stereo etc
unfortunately as nice as a 335d would have been im not interested in having debt like yourself, 15k was the budget for a new car, the GT DCi was the best in its class, along with a Zetec S TDCi, however i stuck with renault as its what i know.
if only i could have a pretty colour coded dash...
so your trying to tell me that a clio 200 is a better option than a GT DCi when doing between 40 and 50k a year? i dont think so. if i wanted a 200 i would have bought one lol hence why i decided a runabout for work and a ph1 was the better option.
less fun than a 200 yes, hence why i have a ph1 that is more fun than a 200
slower than a 200 yes, hence why i have a ph1 that is faster than a 200
looks worse than a 200, LOL get off the crack pipe
worthless on resale, going by previous models it will hold its value more than the RS
hardly...
