not sure on the mk3 clutches, obviously it will accelerate the wear still but not sure how they are.
just dont use the torque band constantly on full throttle as the big lump of torque it builds quickly kills the clutch
yeah mate completely factory standard, why not a diesel?
will do mate, Joe @ powertune scotland done my dci100 and was the best thing i ever done, just ended up killing the clutch, not in so much of a hurry to do it with a brand new car lol!!
the 1.4 and 1.6 16v are similar in running costs but the 1.6 has 10bhp more and a bit more torque so if you can id go for that, however they are both terrible on fuel, ours struggles to do 38mpg with a good mix of driving.
personally id be looking for a dci 80 with £20 a year road tax and 60mpg
anyone had issues with these gearboxes like used to be fairly common the 172/182?
im looking to run 220lb/ft through one just wondered if they were generally a step up in quality over the older boxes
i think a black vinyl (spelling?) roof would be cool.
wheels i wasnt to keen on in the pics i saw before i got it but they look good in life, im keeping it standard bar a few wee touches i quite fancy a remap for this one as its well off the pace of my mapped dci 100 but ill see how it goes...
aye need to sort something out im shite at all this picture taking stuff lol
no idea mate haha i dont know the area i just drive to work and back, hence the diesel. im a manager in the big co-op (the old somerfield) so feel free to have a perv around the car to get you excited about getting...
nice the leather looks lush, you can get it as an after sale option from the dealer its something ive considered. where about in north lanarkshire are you?
yep that was my thinking, its paying for its self in running costs over the 172!!
aye chic, legend garage, producing some of the quickest 172's about haha
because they map better than the 2.0 16v's.....
beef, im going to do ours when i get my hands on it, rough idle is doing my head in as is the poor mpg its doing
agreed, mine is getting new genuine dampers all round.
also DONT change the wheels! its the best bit about a ph1! ok well maby after the aluminium bonnet
performance wise its a bit slower around town, you can deffo feel the extra weight, handles much better (not that a 100 is bad!) its cumfyer, quieter, 6 speed box is awesome, when its on the motorway its probably on par with a 100 due to the extra torque these have (obviously my 100 was a...
