That would be mental in an old Sierra, what's the engine up to atm?
I should have named this thread 'I quite like old Fords these days',
as loads of them are cool.
I did plan on buying an old Mini and restoring/rebuilding it,
but even rotten shells are going for a grand these days which is just mental.
Instead of buying a knackered old Mini, spending 3 times what it's worth getting nice,
I might just save up and get a sub £4k Cortina, or an old Capri and...
There's no getting away from it, I simply just want one.
Difficult to find a good cheap one though, by cheap I mean under £5k.
This would do me nicely, £3,850...
^^^Holy sh*t!!!
They're just so f*cking cool!!!!
This one's not too bad either, POA though, so i'm guessing it's expensive.

There were a few of them with custom V8s at the drag day I went to the other week, cool as f*ck.
An old mate of mine had a black Mk3 with the mother of all sound systems in it,
at the time he worked for a company that fitted custom car systems.
It was like being driven round in a Laz-e-boy arm...
I was at the Sainsbury's roundabout in Courthouse Green,
you were heading in the other direction towards Sainsbury's.
I was in an Iceburg 172 and gave you the thumbs up,
you stared at me like i'd pissed on your kids.
I don't use a CAF with my V6, never have.
If you look at the front grill of a MK2 RS grill, there's actually a slot/vent/tunnel that directs air straight into the engine bay.
Where the bolt is at the bottom right of this pic is where you'll find the vent in the grill.
So fresh cool air is...
Gallardo is my dream car and it looks a hell of a lot cooler,
but the power/performance people can get out of GTR with an unlimited budget is just insane!!!
If it's off the internet right click on the picture itself, 'copy', then right click and 'paste' it directly into your post.
If it's one of your own, get a photobucket account, upload it from your computer,
then do the same right click 'copy' on the image, then right click 'paste' directly into...
That's the thing about the dog kennel, the engine's strong as f*ck,
it's the rest of it that goes wrong, the engine's never gave me any sh*t,
so I think it could take more power without going bang.
I wish you hadn't have said that, I was all for the dog kennel eventually getting ITBs,
but it does make sense that for the same money you get more power from a turbo or S/C.
I'd just be worried about going bang at some point, athough it doesn't seem to bother Toms S/C Cup.
It's honestly not that hard mate, just support the sump with a plank of wood between it and the jack,
then undo the cam cover and engine mount, then fit the new one and stick everything back on.
For the upper gearbox mount, support the gearbox in the same way, battery out,
undo the mount, mine...
LOL.
I'd let him off on that one as the Lotus Cortina is almost outwardly identical,
apart from the wheels and stripe being green not red.
It's a MK1 Ford Cortina my friend.
