I quite like Cortina's these days.

That would be mental in an old Sierra, what's the engine up to atm? I should have named this thread 'I quite like old Fords these days', as loads of them are cool.

I quite like Cortina's these days.

It won't be a sleeper with a yank V8 in it, the noise will give it away, lol so I might as well put it something with some style.

I quite like Cortina's these days.

I did plan on buying an old Mini and restoring/rebuilding it, but even rotten shells are going for a grand these days which is just mental. Instead of buying a knackered old Mini, spending 3 times what it's worth getting nice, I might just save up and get a sub £4k Cortina, or an old Capri and...

I quite like Cortina's these days.

There's no getting away from it, I simply just want one. Difficult to find a good cheap one though, by cheap I mean under £5k. This would do me nicely, £3,850...

^^^Holy sh*t!!! They're just so f*cking cool!!!! This one's not too bad either, POA though, so i'm guessing it's expensive. http://www.ycsc.co.uk/mk2 cortina savage.html

I quite like Cortina's these days.

There were a few of them with custom V8s at the drag day I went to the other week, cool as f*ck. An old mate of mine had a black Mk3 with the mother of all sound systems in it, at the time he worked for a company that fitted custom car systems. It was like being driven round in a Laz-e-boy arm...

I quite like Cortina's these days.

Now i'm normally a Mk1/2 Cortina fan, but I wouldn't say no to a Mk3 either, looks like it might be a laugh...

    Trophy Coventry

FLOL, I was in disguise with a baseball cap on. ;) Although to be fair a happy face in Cov is a rare thing, it probably confused him.

I was at the Sainsbury's roundabout in Courthouse Green, you were heading in the other direction towards Sainsbury's. I was in an Iceburg 172 and gave you the thumbs up, you stared at me like i'd pissed on your kids.

    HELP!! Rattling coming from engine/exhaust!

I've got the same metalic rattle and changing the cat/mani joining kit didn't get rid of it. :dapprove:

    V6 airbox cold air feed

I don't use a CAF with my V6, never have. If you look at the front grill of a MK2 RS grill, there's actually a slot/vent/tunnel that directs air straight into the engine bay. Where the bolt is at the bottom right of this pic is where you'll find the vent in the grill. So fresh cool air is...

1000bhp club, how the other half live!!

Gallardo is my dream car and it looks a hell of a lot cooler, but the power/performance people can get out of GTR with an unlimited budget is just insane!!!

I love how he said 'why is he blocking us'? When that Police car was in his way. Ermm....maybe because you were doing 224mph? Crazy arse Russians. lol

    Questions About Spraying RS Grill

Not at all mate, the surface was quite rough from weathering, so nature had done the job for me. :approve:

    Questions About Spraying RS Grill

I sprayed mine satin black. Matte = Not shiny at all. Satin = OEM look, not very shiny but shinier than Matte. Gloss = Very Shiny.

    Better straight line speed?

Cheers Chip, i'll give that a read.

    Better straight line speed?

If i'm going to spend more on the engine than the whole car's worth, I might as well go f*cking mental and do it all. Nitrous sounds like fun though.

    Better straight line speed?

That's the thing about the dog kennel, the engine's strong as f*ck, it's the rest of it that goes wrong, the engine's never gave me any sh*t, so I think it could take more power without going bang.
  23. DaveDreads

    Better straight line speed?

I wish you hadn't have said that, I was all for the dog kennel eventually getting ITBs, but it does make sense that for the same money you get more power from a turbo or S/C. I'd just be worried about going bang at some point, athough it doesn't seem to bother Toms S/C Cup.

I haven't washed mine at all since CSS although I have used Mantis shine and a rag, which gives it the appearance of being clean for a week or two. :D

upper Gear box mount change guide?

The thread sticks up too far for a normal 16mm, on mine it was deep socket or nothing, hence the 2 hour search that nearly sent us mental.

upper Gear box mount change guide?

It's honestly not that hard mate, just support the sump with a plank of wood between it and the jack, then undo the cam cover and engine mount, then fit the new one and stick everything back on. For the upper gearbox mount, support the gearbox in the same way, battery out, undo the mount, mine...

Are you 19 with a RS?

The main difference is the Mk1 Ford Cortina is £5k and the Mk1 Lotus Cortina is £45k. Both cool a f*ck though.
  29. DaveDreads

Are you 19 with a RS?

LOL. I'd let him off on that one as the Lotus Cortina is almost outwardly identical, apart from the wheels and stripe being green not red. It's a MK1 Ford Cortina my friend.
  30. DaveDreads

Are you 19 with a RS?

Screw power, it's style that'll get the b*tches wet, as long as you've got a 5k budget. 1.5L and tax exempt. :cool...
