It could be that a previous owner has had that airbag deactivated- you would need to get it connected to Clip to check for sure. Saves you a job if you have an aftermarket steering wheel ;)

I've just got back from Cardiff today having had a cat-back system made by Charlie for my Trophy. It sounds great, fits perfectly and from what i can see, it's very well made. It took me three hours to get there, two nights in a hotel and obviously the cost of the exhaust, so it didn't work...

Re: Engine Management Light on!! Changed lambda sensor, cleared code and still on!! H I'm sure your lambda sensors are fine. It's quite normal for it to throw up a fault code for a lambda sensor if you have a misfire. Check plugs, leads, coilpack and injectors.

I will try my best mate, i appreciate it's a hard thing to even try and diagnose without actually hearing it. The problem is it can go such a long time without happening that it's hard to capture. I'll give it a try tomorrow anyway, thanks for your reply

Thanks for everybody's help so far, given me a few more things to check and research. Any thoughts on a sticking caliper being to blame? The knocking happens immediately after i've come to a stop (when foot lifted off the brake pedal) and then a succession of knocks continues for around 5 - 10...

CC is more of a ticking/tapping noise isn't it? This is a bit like a continuous clunk and it's intermittent, in that it can go 50/60 miles without doing it once!

It feels like it could be brake related if anything. The discs and pads are reasonably new. Fluid was replaced about two weeks ago and it started shortly after that....

Sorry to hear about that mate, but at least it was a relatively straight forward and inexpensive fix! Do you know the spec/size of the terminal connector? Mine is in quite badly corroded too so i'm thinking of changing it just to be on the safe side...

Renault state in the service book that oil changes are needed every 12k or 2 years (whichever comes sooner). Most people change the oil every 6k though.
