Thanks for all your replies guys - really do hope it's the CTS...
Was only thinking about planning a trip to the 'ring last night, but not sure i'd trust it to get me there now!
Had a little trouble with my car this morning- I was driving to work when I noticed a sudden loss of power, when I accelerated in any gear the engine just felt bogged down and didn't do anything.
I pulled over and turned the engine off, tried to restart it and it wouldn't start. Eventually got...
Yes the standard ECU can be remapped no problem, but don't expect massive gains...
As for who to use, I would be heading over to RS Tuning in Leeds (www.rstuning.co.uk).
Started sorting some of the stone chips on my bonnet. I filled them with paint (using a cocktail stick, lol), sanded them down and then machine polished. I'm amazed how well it has worked actually, you can't really tell it has been done!
I wouldn't say i've really lost any money tbh. For example, I sold the 182 for more than I paid for it, but then I'd spent a bit of money on it so probably broke even.
I've nearly had my Trophy for a year and have no intention of selling it. I think in was a case of finding a car I was happy with.
I've never owned a car for a full year... :o
You find a lot of people who are 'into cars' change them on a regular basis, hence I don't worry too much about the number of previous owners when buying a car. The 182 I owned before my Trophy I had for just four months. In that time, I'd spent...
What a lovely car!!
My only suggestion would be to have a play around with the exhaust so the tailpipes don't poke out as much, but that's me being fussy.
I had my wheels refurbished in the original Trophy colour (Ixell 205.110) and Michelin Pilot Sport 3's (78W XL) fitted all round.
Also gave it a quick clean....

Re: The life of... SharkyUK's Trophy [& Fred's V6]
Great update Andy, nice to finally see a light at the end of the tunnel i bet!
Looking forward to more updates.
This car is stunning, the attention to detail is unbelievable! :hail:
Any chance I could leave my Trophy with you for 8 months so you could work your magic on it? :D
Lovely car. The mileage wouldn't put me off one bit, clearly it has been looked after so should be good for plenty more miles yet!
Have to say a set of Turini's in a really bright silver would look great. I know it's not the most original choice, but there's a reason everyone has them...
Ahh really, i though they were all over the place! Worth noting that they will get them done the same day if you drop them off first thing, so you could always make a day of it.
Midlands Car Care actually use The Wheel Specialist in Wolverhampton, but if you go through MCC it's a lot cheaper...
Getting mine done through Midlands Car Care tomorrow for £200. They are also based in Birmingham.
If you find your nearest 'The Wheel Specialist' they are generally regarded as good but not the cheapest.
