OK, i'll check for crap on the blocks ring, and make sure its on quite tight
the only thing I can do is get more oil and a new filter and try again.
At least it took a week for it to all leak out and not all in one go.
If I hand tighten it and then another 3/4 will I have tighten it with
a...
Ive lost damn near all of it mate!
However the temp guage never moved and it has just below minimum
on the dip stick, and thats after its cooled down.
I hope to christ its not a hole in the block face, but it did cross my
mind.
I coming to this conclusion aswell, i've changed the oil myself
on this car and nothing went wrong and that was the first time
I had ever changed the oil on any car and I had no problems.
Strange!!
I diddn't think it was anything me or my mate did after all
it's only an oil change, not...
Yes I did that, primed the filter and rubbed it round the seal.
The mate who helped me builds modified land rovers for brutal
off road abuse, he knows more adout cars than i'll ever know.
Thats why i'm a bit freaked out about it as it was only an oil change,
not hard to get it right, hes...
That was the first thing I checked mate,
it was bone dry, ive traced the leak back to the oil filter,
there is a big slick of oil starting from the filter.
I changed my oil last sunday at a mates house,
and today the oil waring light went on, checked the oil
and its all leaked out from the filter!?
What the hell could cause that?
It's a brand new filter, it was hand tightened.
Suggestions?
I understand the point that the rear just goes over the rubber top mounts,
I had the same concerns about it not being welded to the chasis and was worried
that I was wasting my money, but it does work.
It's all to do with keeping the rear struts more rigid and reducing movement,
of course...

You had your girlfriend in the passanger seat.

When I fitted my rear OMP Strut Brace I noticed the difference straight away,
I have no back seats so the back always felt a bit soft, the first 90 degree
bend I through it in to told me it was money well spent.
It depends on how you drive as to wheather you will notice any difference,
if you...
The money you will make on breaking it for parts will be a decent
amount, F4R engines change hands for £500 - £1000 depending
on condition, miles etc
On the other hand the money you will loose on future insurance
premiums will be alot more than the loss you will incure on breaking.
Its just...
The reason I have a standard looking car is beacause most people on the roads think its just a normal clio 1.2, 1.4, 1.6 etc.
Its had a few bits done to it, Springs, Brakes, Zorst, Inlets Matched,
rear seats gone, and a rear strut brace, so its a fair bit quicker than
standard.
Ive recently...
Rare as rocking horse sh1t, never seen one before.
Thought it was a cup at first but it had all the R27 stckers on it.
Being driven by a middle aged man, flashed you but got blanked, I was in my Iceberg Silver 172.
Spotted between 2:30 & 3:00pm
It does appear that it would be cheaper to buy those discs
and get separate bearings and ABS rings.
Ive dona a bit of a search and it does seem that people buy generic
discs from anywhere as the back only do 25% of the brakeing.
I was gonna buy some brakes from ebay
Mintex rear discs with Bearings, abs rings and mintex pads
£95 plus £12 postage, Bargin I thought.
"THE MOTORIST CAR PARTS WAREHOUSE" (company Name)
I rang them up to confirm the price and a guy answered the phone
