Tries to start for a couple of seconds then just stops on its own. Had the TDC sensor replaced with the new one + loom not too long ago, but could maybe be that it's got dirty.

Exactly, Twingo has the Clio chassis iirc? Probably the drilling part or whatever they did to get the gearbox in, would be awesome having a Megane turbo powered engine in a Clio though!

K-tec 182 ehxuast doesn't fit into the surrounds, try a custom exhaust place like Powerflow or Prospeed.

Got quoted £315 for a Toad Ai6106 fitted with a couple of sensors, £209 fitted on eBay without the extra sensors.

I got quoted on a standard 172, got told the same and I'm with the same insurers as you but on my 1.2. They said they'd look into other companies for me, came back and said £7k. Might be worth getting a load of other quotes and waiting until the 5 months is up if there's nothing else you can...

For no apparent reason. Sometimes I get in and it's fine, sometimes I get in and it tries to start for a couple of seconds then just goes off. Try again, and it does the same. Leave it for a minute, it does the same or starts randomly. No warning lights on dash - any ideas?
