No disrespect to Henk, or DanielG, but surely you can't produce the best map possible for the car without actually being with the car on a rolling road seeing what is going on in realtime?
Yes but, if the second hand one fails, then it's a new belt job so gonna cost 600 quid with a new dephaser

They do have mileage and age limitations, 35k and two years i think?? Sam will correct me. Its a rubber belt the same as the cambelt, so it also deteriates and also needs changing. If it snaps it can wrap round the crankpully and fetch the timing belt off
Yeah the CTS is on the thermastat housing. Try replacing that as its cheap enough and if its old, then itll soon need replacing anyway. I'd chuck a new stat in too at the same time. Also take the throttle body off and give it a good clean and then see how that leaves ya

A whirring noise and a beeping noise are two completely different noises. Which one is it and where exactly is it coming from
