Im in need of new rear brake pads. Around the £40 mark for OEM ones but i can get yellow stuff pads for £44. Would it be ok to run uprated pads on the rear and OEM up front? Not going to out balance the braking?

Is there a project thread about this? Maybe from a previous owner?

Read up on this quite a bit. Just wondering if many people used the fastchip software on there 197 Clio? How did you find the whole process? Seems easy enough. Also how did the car feel after? They aren't custom maps I take it?

I really liked these tyres! Never really read bad reviews on them before this thread! An aternative you could try are the Parada Spec 2's, they are awesome in the dry but in the wet they are questionable.

Wanting a little more noise from my 197 without spending stupid money on exhausts etc. Was thinking about a BMC induction kit or removing the acoustic valve (doubt it though). Have also looked into removing the centre section but seems to give a flat spot so that's a no no. Any other ideas...

How much more noticeable was the flat spot? Was the sound worth it ??! :)

I was only doing it for the sound basically. A mate has removed his centre section on his Megane 225 and it sounds awesome!

It's just a silencer though. Didn't think it gave any gains/decrease in performance? The 197 generally have a flat spot at 3.5k, we can't afford anymore! :eek:

Anyone done this with there standard 197 exhaust? How does it sound? Posted up as thread on 197.net but it is a pretty quiet forum.

Looks reall good! I like the Sprint spoilers better than the cup ones because they are subtle, not in-yo-face! Brave man taking a drill to your 197!
