I drove Ellas brothers Vectra GSI 2.5 24V - 195 bhp (I think). Sat there waiting for something to happen as the revs build up in gear........ nothing...... I was very dissapointed - I expected it to pull like a train. Felt very slow compared to the 172 but the 2.5 V6 does sound nice!

I had the 4K rattle. They replaced the centre section of the exhaust and fitted a new sleave(?) just 2 weeks ago. My rattle sounded like metal on metal. Like an angry wasp in a 4K tin can!

I didnt like it until I saw one on the move the other day. The press pics just didnt do it justice. Gets the thumbs up from me.

Hmmmm - looks like I may need to get myself over to Renault and get them to "customise" my service manual to my car!!

Tommy - I would have thought the same. The 172 is very good on the old mpgs. Plus (Im guessing at 5K its gonna be 3+ years old) the pug will have to be MOTd and any broken bits paid for in hard cash rather than being nicely covered on a 3 year warranty that you currently have.

Jeeez - Thats a mess. Very lucky to have had that field there I reckon. Renault do always get top bannana marks in the NCAP crash tests though.

Nice one roamer. Most modded 172 Mk2 now I reckon.....?????? Bad to hear about the body work damage though mate. Bad Luck. Hope you can get it sorted fairly cheaply - your so lucky it didnt hit the windscreen and injure someone though. Rich
