Sim Rigs - Let’s see yours

Would really appreciate it if you could ask him. I really want to add a handbrake, as I hate using a button on the wheel, and it would feel more immersive. This looks to be the only way to do it though.

Sim Rigs - Let’s see yours

Thanks. Their info seems a bit contradictory. The website mentions the G923 but the user manual doesn't, so would be nice to have it straight from the horse's mouth about what I can use, especially as I am going to have to import it.

Sim Rigs - Let’s see yours

Everything! The article I saw didn't even say who it was made by, so knowing that is a start 😂 A recommendation of what handbrakes I can use with it would definitely be useful. Was just looking at the Collective Minds website and it only seems to mention the Thrustmaster CS. Also, in terms of...

Sim Rigs - Let’s see yours

Seems my musings over Fanatec and Thrustmaster have become a bit irrelevant, as my missus bought me a Logitech G923 and shifter as an early birthday present - I think she was fed up of me saying I should get a wheel  Going to run with it for now, as I'm sure I'll still have plenty of fun...

Sim Rigs - Let’s see yours

Fanatec came back to me. The links (quoted below) would all work for me on my Xbox. Problem is, they don't ship to Saudi and could only recommend that I get it sent somewhere else and then onto Saudi through a freight forwarding company. The problem is, no more warranty if I go down that route...

    Coilovers Back to Springs?

If you're putting used stuff back on, is there any point? I'm not sure you'll gain a huge amount, and OEM dampers wear out pretty quickly in my experience, especially if the car is lowered.

Sim Rigs - Let’s see yours

I sent them an enquiry the other day, but no response yet. Maybe they're still replying to complaints about delivery

Sim Rigs - Let’s see yours

I'll drop them a message to ask them about shipping, but I don't hold out much hope. If I was to go down the Fanatec route, would the below be the right starting point? Might not go for it all at once, as I could add the shift and handbrake later, but I think that would depend on shipping costs...

    Nissan Silvia spec R

I think they're still having an impact. There must be hundreds of R34 Skylines in storage, waiting to be exported to the US, so I bet there are loads of S15s too. Drifting has definitely had an impact too of course, as I bet loads have been smashed up for that, just like S13s and 14s were...

Sim Rigs - Let’s see yours

I'm going to get in on this, as I have decided I really need to get a wheel setup. Getting hold of stuff in Saudi can be tricky and, outside the basic Logitech gear, I would have to import everything. I've been looking at a Thrustmaster TX, does anyone have any experience with those? I'm on...

    Nissan Silvia spec R

Don't blame you for selling the S15 to be honest. Subaru is probably a more enjoyable car on UK roads, and the prices of any Silvias are getting silly now. The Yanks have just made them go bonkers.

    ‘Bonnie Blue’ The RB 182

If you're going 2118s on RB, they have to be white for sure.

    ‘Bonnie Blue’ The RB 182

RB is definitely the best factory colour on the 182. Looks lovely.

What's your favourite car related YouTube channel?

I've noticed that quite a few of them have a second channel now. Mighty Car Mods, Sammit, Shmee all do. There must be some benefit behind it for them to split the content across two channels rather than having it all on one.

    Toss new Clio ad

Oh there's no doubt a bit of that. I'm nearly 40 so I reserve the right to start shouting at the clouds  That said, things are a bit frightening in some respects. My two step kids (16 and 18) are total addicts when it comes to stimulation. They will play a video game while listening to...

    Toss new Clio ad

It's the new face that's the problem in my view. The little silver/chrome bits all over the grill, the massive chunk of grey plastic etc, it's a bit of a mess. Seems to be a trend in car design currently - just throw every crease, line, edge and piece of bling possible at everything. They just...

It looks genuinely awful next to the E46. It's a mess. Absolutely zero cohesion in the design.

    Toss new Clio ad

This is the sad truth. As I understand it, French legislation has all but killed off the hot hatch there, and the increasing move towards EVs will change the market massively. UK buying trends are towards wanky crossovers and away from hatchbacks. The Hyundai i20 N and MINI Cooper S are the...

    Toss new Clio ad

Someone just showed me this. Firstly, why have they given the new Clio an ugly face? Secondly, isn't it a bit sad that the ad contains all the greatest hits from the Clio range, and no one within Renault thought, "Hmmmm, this shows all the class-leading cars we've produced over the years, isn't...

    The Cars Spotted Appreciation Thread

Someone got out of bed the wrong side this morning  I remember seeing a few RS2000s on dynos over the years. The power figures seemed all over the place. I seem to remember that removing the air pulse system from the exhaust manifold helped a bit. With cams, induction, exhaust and a...

What's your favourite car related YouTube channel?

The waffle is annoying in some of them. I know they use clickbait for a reason, but you can skip 90% of the videos in a lot of cases. I can't be bothered with Matt Armstrong, as he's terrible for it. So is Sammit.

    The Cars Spotted Appreciation Thread

It was a marketing thing, and helped them to fudge the sales figures. If I remember rightly, the Orion made up around a quarter of total sales for the Escort/Orion, so they decided to rebrand the Orion as an Escort saloon to make the sales figures for the Escort look better. It happened in 1993...

Had a few of those over the years. The saloon drives better than the hatch as it's a touch stiffer. More refined too. Had one with a 2.0 conversion several years ago that went pretty well for the time. Can't be many left now.

My New Yee - haw Pick Up Truck

Hold on, so they aren't delivering your car, and they're taking away the rental? Man, they really are shite. How are you not losing your s**t over this? Or is it because you're going to sell the truck as soon as you get it?
