Honestly, I would be calling them hourly if they told me that, and I would be posting relentlessly on social media about how s**t they were until they fixed it.
Weren't a lot of them registered on the south coast?
A lot of 172 Cups (my old one included) have plates that start with "HT", which is also Portsmouth area.
I'm sure someone said at one point that a lot were registered there, rather than by dealers.
It's not often that @Jaff. and I agree, but this. I don't see the harm in it. Given some of the silly diffusers and splitters people nail to Clios, and the fact that people all buy the same wheels, we're probably not in any position to comment
It's just different styles. Go to Japan and you'll...
Where can I buy a standard centre section for a 197? Mine has broken in half, so I probably need a new one! Tried ECP (don't list one) and Autodoc (out of stock), so does anyone have any other suggestions? Tricky part is that it will need to be shipped to Saudi!
Aftermarket isn't really an...
I'd definitely be cautious about a Megane if the rear seats are important, as they're not that big in the back and, as @Gavin. said, the rear side windows are all but non-existent. In reality, if you want something that blends fun and family, you might be better with a five-door Leon Cupra or...
I think if I was to have another, I'd have a petrol turbo, but just a FWD. Not sure the R is worth the extra money/hassle nowadays, as they seem quite pricey. A 2.3/2.4/2.5T with a few mods would be plenty fun and still good at wafting.
Love those. Hard to find a good manual though. A bit of baulk factor too with the AWD I believe. I had a D5 of that gen for a while and, while it was a great barge, the cost of parts was a bit eye-watering at times.
That's a bit extreme maybe. You can still be knowledgeable and talk about something with authority, even if you aren't totally "hands-on". Someone like Chris Harris or Henry Catchpole wouldn't be any good at fixing a car, but I would put a certain amount of faith in their assessment of how a car...
I don't see a massive issue with him getting other people to do the work on the one hand, as not everyone is mechanically minded. That said, it does surprise me at times how useless a lot of motoring journalists/content creators are at spannering. Was reading an article about one of the PH...
Problem in Australia is lack of choice I suspect. Can't be many out there. It could have been ok. The 1.6 16v 206 was the basis for the 206 Super Cup so, if done right, it could have been decent. They just decided to go down the stupid, clickbait route sadly.
I watched the hot hatch series MCM did recently, with the Swift Sport and the 206. It was ok, but it was annoying that they went the route of spunking money on the Japanese car, but doing a s**t job with the Peugeot. Would have been more interesting if they'd done a more direct comparison.
I...
I remember a guy I knew putting 15" Evo Rs on his Orion EFI. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world at the time. No one else I knew could afford brand new wheels
Obviously everyone will have a different view on what represents "good value" but, if you're that conscious of a type when it comes to money, modifying cars probably isn't the hobby for you. We do this stuff because we want to do it, not because it makes good financial sense.
Didn't someone fit a 197/200 'box to a 1*2? Don't think it was on here, but sure someone shared a link to a Facebook post st some point.
Assume it would need custom mounts and shafts though.
As someone above said, great for certain workplaces as a training aid, and ok for gamers, but a gimmick for anyone else. Can see plenty being bought and soon ending up on a shelf, gathering dust. We keep being told that VR is going to take over the world, but plenty of the big tech companies are...
I had a bit of a giggle the other day. The big boss asked me and another senior manager to draft an email to a major potential client. Said senior manager got called to a meeting, so I said I'd draft something and we could chat about it when he was done. He is really into chatGPT so, before he...
As you know, I don't really 'get' the Volvo thing, but this I totally see the appeal of.
Maybe do the wheels in white? Would tone it down a bit and look against the body work.
I think I would go into it with caution to be honest. You might love the 5 but, if you are used to modern cars, you might hate it. Let's face it, it's going to feel ancient, not that fast, and generally like you're driving round in an empty biscuit tin. There's nothing wrong with all that, but a...
Seems a stupid question, but can anyone recommend somewhere to buy track rods for my 197? I can find track rod ends, but not the track rods themselves.
RPD don't have any stock, ECP don't have Lemforder or even Moog, Autodoc don't have any decent brands in stock - is there a global shortage or...
Thought the same when a video popped up in my feed. Wouldn't give any of them the time of day. Sooner one of them gets banged up for doing something stupid the better.
