oops, sorry for adding possible competition!! good luck!!
Daz i was thinking this, might be worth finding some other pictures of mk3s on 15's before considering most wheels from the mk1/2 range!!
a guy on here had pink wheels on a black mk3 nonsport, pretty sure they were 15's and they looked...
they dont weigh any more than my oz f1's, i may consider changing to suppalaggera's (sp) at a later date when the tyres die on these!!
this is the same set up as all of the itb, plus the ph1s had the fuel cut out switch.
ill probs dig it out and refit it in the final build though.
theyre not...
the black and white theme works well!!
serious lows and nice wheels will make it look ace, then just little touches from there!!
white williams wheel?! not seen them on a mk3, i think theyll look awesome tbh...
decent garage with the proper tools will pop this out in well under an hour!! rear take about 10 minutes to do,
30 minutes all in to do the front, using a lift/impact guns/hydraulic spring compressors makes it a complete doddle!!
might as well try it yourself if you have basic knowledge!!
what could really go wrong on a 1.6 so bad that you'd need to get rid?!
tbh id just sit it out until you can afford what you want, whats the point in half measures!! lol,
changing cars always ends up costing money ime, there will always be a few things that need doing and before you know it...
Omg, i remember reading some of this project back when i joined years ago......
and i saw the actual car during the london tunnel run last year.......
never in a million years would i have thought they were the same car!! im absolutely shocked!!
amazing work guys!!
very mixed opinion on the wheels!! i only put them on because they already had the paradas already on them, but theyve since grown on me!!
No perpex windows just yet!! i want to keep it road legal and road bearable!! plus ive got to work to a budget! hence the standard power!!
im only running...
was meant to read the mounting PLATES are 3mm steel....but the same thing!!
cheers guys but i was really hoping i wouldnt be asked for a spec list...
ive been typing for ages updating my project thread but ill write a spec list after ive had some dinner!! :)
and Ben, i see no reason for...
Up to date pic thread!! :http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?635612-Up-to-date-pics-of-my-track-car!-maybe-not-56k-friendly!!&p=8601029#post8601029
i lowered the rear again as it sat quite high after i got everything out of it!!
i also forgot to add that i fitted a bumper pin on one...
Been building a track car out of my ph1 172 while im at uni and dont need a car to drive. Been working on it all easter and this is how it stands now!!
full thread here: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?614966-Strugglers-back!!-ph1-172-project!-(bit-of-a-read)&p=8600992#post8600992...
welcome to CS,
what kind of exhaust are you looking for?? loud? LOUD? rasp??
budget??
most people go for the yozza sport exhaust for the clio, theyre very good, but quite loud!! lol
Update 11/04/2011
Sorry to anyone following, not updated this in a while because ive not been doing anything interesting or substancial recently to warrant a whole thread!!
but ive saved them up for a whole post on the dash!!
So started with the dash out, all the ducting had been removed and...
Sam, is that comment about the standard rear brace aimed at me?! the mounting places are 3mm steel and theres a plate on both sides of the shell. do you not think this is sufficient??
how do you figure the "more slowly" technically they slow you down faster as theyre deploying in the opersite...
I have a bolt in harness bar!!
im glad Sam said exactly what i was thinking. An inertia reel seatbelt is designed to hold you in place, not to "give you some room to move around" crashes happen in split seconds, nobody will sit there thinking
"Hmm im experiencing a car crash, and the roof is...
im saying if youre handy you could do it in an hour!!
if youre a moron with a torque wrench, then id set aside a day for it!!
either way as long as you have the sense to tighten bolts up FT (or a torque wrench) then it can be done with little or no mechanical experience!!
what a let down!! i was hoing he had made a kettle from his scrap clio!!
you dont need to read the article, just the subtitle covers everything really!!
both front wheels off
pinch bolt out (will be a bit of a mare)
Ball joint splitter inbetween the balljoint and hub
large hammer, a few swear words and about 1-100 minutes hammering depending on how much of a mare she is.
2 18mm nut/bolts connecting ball joint to wishbone
and theyre off...
exactly this, mk1 and mk2 engines will all fit into the mk2 bay but the track for the sorts is considerably wider due to larger wishbones/arb etc.
also the rear beam will need to be changed also as the 1*2s have a much stiffer antiroll bar welded through the middle than the non-sports (though...
im quite glad you said this tbh, every thread i read makes out that the belt can only be done by specialists or youll end up with 3bhp!! i always assumed that with all the correct tools and taking your time, then you will get it right!!
everyones fear attitude was putting me off doing mine...
Putting a Cat back in will give you less rasp and will mean MOT's are less of a worry,
might be costly to purchase a cat but you will have some value in the selling of the decat.
centre silencer will quiet it down more as thats their main function.
personally i plan to go with 2 silencers and...
