Welcome! Stick some pictures up in the pictures section, nice to see another MK3 owner here

    That pink bagged baguette

Welcome to the forum. It's not what most on here would do, but if you like it, who cares. A lot of people slate the Max Power era, but I do miss the creativity, so I can appreciate what you're doing. Just make sure you fit a big engine at some point

    The Cars Spotted Appreciation Thread

Two and four-wheel ran alongside each other from '94 - '96. Funny car really the 4x4. As you say, it wasn't that quick because of the drivetrain, but the chassis got very good reviews. Some even said that it handled better than the Cosworth. That wouldn't surprise me really, as it had a proper...

    The Cars Spotted Appreciation Thread

Yeah GTI was a 1.8. Wasn't really that quick really. I had a couple with a 2.0-litre Zetec in, as it was a really easy upgrade and made a reasonable difference, though still not as quick as the RS. Not that any of them are quick by modern standards!

    The Cars Spotted Appreciation Thread

On a P-plate, it could be an RS2000 or a GTI. Or just a lower model with the skirts of course. Had loads of those Escorts over the years. Still have a soft spot for them.

    Values of Nice Examples increasing

I'm not sure it's a British obsession. I think it matters among those that collect cars. For some, originality is everything, to the point that an unrestored car is worth more than a restored one. A car is only original once, and some people like to maintain that. Some people just enjoy...

    My RB 197

I've sold most of them now, but got two 205/45 left, basically brand new

    My RB 197

The overhaul has begun! Managed to find a set of Cooksport springs for a good price, which turned up a couple of days ago. Seemed silly not to give it a bit of a drop if I was taking it apart anyway. The 200 Cup front shocks, new top mounts and new lower arms arrived from RPD earlier this week...

Is it standard ride height? It looks quite low at the back.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Really interesting write up that, interesting to hear the viewpoint of all the options. I suspected that the high boost would be much as you described, as it's a lot of power to put through a little car like the Clio. I have a feeling that my impression would be quite similar to yours, as the...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

I'm probably not the best person to answer that, as I don't have much experience. My understanding is that the Group N timing gives a bit of a jump in torque though? That would probably appeal to me I think. If you can get the car to feel a bit more sprightly in the mid-range, it would give you...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

I would do the cams and see how you feel. It's not that much money to try it (compared to forced induction anyway!), and you might think, "That's enough". If you're still left wanting, you can then look at going further

    My New Volvo 850 T5

So you did buy another old Volvo 😂 I'd love another T-5 at some point, loved my old one.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

I would 100% stay normally aspirated personally. Like you have talked about, cams and some inlet tweaks and job done. If you can get it to around 200bhp, that will be more than enough. Once you go forced induction, I think you sort of lose the purpose of the car really. It stops being an R.S...

Clio Cup Racer No28 Rally Car

Yeah I guess you're right. I think the quality of the joints makes a big difference. Just a bit of a concern as I knew a guy in Denmark who broke a couple on an Escort like my old one. Hopefully yours will be alright. Yellow would look good. I'd probably stick to a flat colour, just so it's...

Clio Cup Racer No28 Rally Car

Those rose joints on the outer still worry me a bit. As for colour, maybe just white so it's clean for some vinyl? Yellow? I like yellow :ROFLMAO:

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

I find it a very interesting car in a way. It appears very divisive. It was regarded as being pretty average by the motoring press, but many owners seem to adore them. Now it's been replaced by a transverse AWD version, the motoring hacks mourn the passing of the old one.

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

I know what you mean. Big cars don't really do much for me generally. I do quite like the 5-Series, and would probably have one as a "throw stuff in the back of" wagon, or as a tow car, but I think a Golf/Focus/1-Series car is about perfect for most stuff. Says the guy who drives a 197 😂

    MarkCup's BMW M140i

I went round the 'ring as a passenger in an M6. It was an absolute weapon. Modern cars hide their weight very well tbh.

he Speedlines now have new Asymmetric 5s on them. I put some wheel sealer on them this afternoon, so they're ready to go: Ordered new front dampers, top mounts and lower arms from RPD too, as they all look a bit rough. I think the battery is beginning to suffer from lockdown now, as had to...
