Most of those were taken between beckitts & chapel is it? corner just before hanger straight. Its a public place, there was quite a few people taking pics there.
I used auto focus all day, although i made a schoolboy error by setting the focus area to the left of the frame (and forgetting i'd done it) which is why the back of the car is more in focus on a lot of shots.
Setup was just my D50 and a mixture of the 18-200mm and a sigma 70-300mm APO. I was having problems with the sigma getting sharp results at anything under 1/125th, so switched to the 18-200, which for a "slow" lens, produced pretty reasonable images. I'd love something abit quicker/longer...
Just been sorting out a few pics from Silverstone on sunday. It was my first proper attempt at motorsport photography, and it did take me a while to get some decent results whilst panning - although I had a few keepers at 1/60th. I didn't find the track too bad to geting decent photos, although...
I know its not quite a D300, but I've been offered one for what i think is a steal at £400. 5500 actuations, extra battery, boxed etc.
If I sell my 18-200mm VR and D50 body I should still have some change left over.
I can't really see myself realistically spending £1000 on a D300 and...
