Well i've just been talking to someone from "proplates.co.uk" who is going to have a word with his manager tomorrow in regards to pricing for the smaller plates. Am I right in thinking people are wanting them between £10-15 posted? Is this what they used to be with fancyplates?
Yeah exactly, not worth it! Would rather go through fancyplates with cliosport discount. I didn't tell them fancyplates prices no, but they told me that they do get requests for plates from astra owners for the same size and that they cut down the standard size plates for a charge of £7.50 which...
I have been in contact with an ebayer who is able to do the plates for £19 if this is of interest to anyone? I'm still trying to find it cheaper as this isn't much different to fancyplates.
Well i've had a reply from one supplier stating that lots of people do ask about 520x90 sized plates, and that they will start to look into making them and let me know. Still looking for current suppliers now.
I think the problem is more that they use standard plate sizes, and dont tend to have the cut down 520x90mm ones. Is it possible to cut down a standard sized plate without cracking any of the plastic? Have access to band saws.
Well i've been in contact with both lambda sensor supplier and cat supplier. They're sending me out a new lambda sensor to try post cat, so will get that fitted and see if the fault comes back. Next port of call is a new cat under warranty, but will just wait for a reply from the seller. They...
It was a cat from Ebay yeah, but it has a year warranty, or it's meant to anyway. I've contacted the people who sold the sensors and will see what they say. I could try one of my old ones? OE cat was out of my price range to be honest! Didn't want 2nd hand as I'd replaced mine as the flexi was...
Replaced the Cat and lambda sensors on my 1.2 clio but I still have the fault code P0420 Catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1.
When I removed the sensors they were both different, but the ones I bought to replace it were the same however they were stated to be universal. Could this...
Well I got a crash sensor from @midge this morning and fitted it straight away. No more airbag lights! I'm chuffed!
Now time to try and sort out that EML...
Well the engine management light has returned so i'm guessing that it was wrong that they were "both the same". Will put the old one back on post cat, and see if this makes any difference. Will the light go off if it can adjust itself or do I need to get it on diagnostics again?...
This is what i got, and i use it for uni stuff. Runs photoshop, solidworks, Keyshot, 3ds maxx etc fairly well so should be more than suitable! It's the best laptop for the money specs wise really! Well, it was when i bought one last year and not much has changed...
Only have access at my brothers work unfortunately but wont be able to go down again as he's really busy and i'm going back to uni tomorrow. I'll just put a wanted ad up for a crash sensor or try find a scrapper. For the price it'll be maybe worth changing anyway!
Another question, I tried...
Well i've removed the sensor, and cleaned up the pins which were a tiny bit green. Sprayed some wd40 in and reconnected, lights still on... There was water in the rear footwells as upon inspection yesterday we found loads of the bungs had pushed up into the car?! is this common? Seemed strange...
I unsoldered them all today and fully bypassed the grey connector on the driver side but all airbag lights on still. Got the car hooked up to a diagnostics and there were a fair few errors, (low ecu voltage, multiplexed etc). We cleared these and there was only one left which was a 180 short...
Got it on diagnostics and it was a lambda sensor. Removed them both and replaced with the new however the post and pre sensor which came off the cat were different. But the ones that were put on were the same...
Will this be an issue?
It's getting plugged in tomorrow but i wanted some lamda sensors just in case, can always send them back if this isn't the problem! Hopefully it is though as it just had a new cat as the old one split in two and this probably put some strain onto the sensors.
Are the sensors both the same post and precat on the clio 1.2? I have an engine management light I believe to be the cat sensors. Which do i need?
Thanks
Well i've been looking under my passenger seat and all of the connections from the grey plug have been soldered together bypassing it. Under the drivers seat some of the wires have been soldered, but there are still two going through a grey connector. Where's the issue most likely to lie? Shall...
I have literally just been looking at this myself. My clio didn't come with the top cover, but i've managed to source one off a breaker car. You may want to check that the wires have not chafed with all of the rattling as this can happen!
I've heard it can be tightened, but it's fiddly. There's...
