Is there anyone with a modded/Standard valver that is happy with their 1.8 16v lump? Because i seem to be the only one! I actually quite enjoy ragging it to keep the revs up and that 4k kick! Im asking this because when anyone seems to mention modding the 1.8 they say to get a 2.0 or GTT conv...

As Matts just said - the 16v can be modded to your own taste where as its a crime to change a willy. Do what you want to it to the standard you want! It looks mint at the mo though so id just leave it mate and mod the engine!

Yeah i think thats a Rover Coupe interior. What id want is the phase 2 interior retrimmed. What would i be looking to pay for a decent re-trim?

I bought a new alpine headunit the other day which is 4x60. Ive run it off the existing headunit power cable with the inline fuse supplied. It booms all my speakers out no probs which are all aftermarker numbers and it is crystal clear so i take it that its being powered fine.

Are you sure you aint gettin the oil level and temperature gauges confused? Oil level is far left and should indicate the level then drop after 30 secs. Temp is the middle gauge.

i would never say a 1.6 can keep up with a valver!!! ur like 130bhp! and were 110 not to mention weight difference...dont know any 1.6ers who have said this either... Hmm some of your 1.6 companions think they can.Theyve posted it in here too at the start and the end of the thread:-...

Nope i just checked. If you go to the CS homepage and check car specs a valver is 980kg and a williams is 990kg.

Cheers Guys Makes and interesting read! Its just every 1.6 16v ive come across ive left for dead (Sorry 1.6 boys no offence meant!) but they all seem to argue they can keep with valvers. But that works out that a valver has about 30bhp per tonne more which is alot i think well all agree!
