Hmm.. being critical, neither does much for me. The plant one is fuzzy and the second one isn't much better TBH. Sorry ! Doesn't look to be particularly straight, the train could have been moving for longer in the shot to make it look blurry, or cleverly could have panned and got the train...

Bump the shadows.... Assuming you had a tripod (I'm guessing you didn't though) .. I'd have suggested bracketing .. so you over and under expose in different shots .. PS them all together without making it look awfully OTT / HDR style.

Protects from rogue light to get less flares etc.. As well as helping protect from rain dust etc.

White balance .. either use tungsten mode or manual temp - xxxxK = kelvin. It's the light's temperature essentially. Check out the white bal tutorial on the stickes ;)
