    Expensive Week :/

Odd. I'd call Renault UK and complain TBH... Seriously though, I hope your original salary was hilariously large as a 50% paycut would hurt 99% of the world's population at the best of times !

    Admiral, 182 ff quote

I don't understand this at all. It's not like rocket launchers or twin turbos were an option... How could you be sure what the car should have had as it left the factory !? Has anyone actually had insurance invalidated because they didn't "declare" their plastic splitter which comes OEM...

    Subframe bent, best options?

Get a quote on a dCi 80 Clio .. get a quote on a Focus 1.6 .. pick anything at random < £2k from PH / AT and get a quote on that. Sell your wreck and buy a new car. It'll probably cheaper then the 6 large you're about to drop making a psuedo172.

    Time for some new shoes

They're distinctly average at best. V12 all the way :approve:

    Time for some new shoes

195s are 10mm narrower across the road-surface. Unless you're a track hero, you will never notice the difference in grip.

    Time for some new shoes

Hankook V12 .. all day long. Check 205 vs 195 on price as well. You'll not notice the difference on the road. Camskill and Blackcircles are about the only places worth checking these days. Lal B3N works for Camskill :approve:

    Time for some new shoes

http://www.blackcircles.com/general/tyre-labelling/tyre-label A > G = 7.5% difference in economy under those conditions. So, C > F is maybe half of that ? 3% ? 3% of 35mpg = 1.05mpg different. You'll never notice. Just get the best grippiest tyres you can afford. If you're worried...

    Time for some new shoes

Less rolling resistance = less fuel .. which is great right up until the first time you take a corner as less rolling resistance = less grip.

    EE's 4G plans are out.

I'm on EE and I don't think I have a 4G phone (Google Nexus - the new one) so I'm quite alright on 3G, TBH. My mobile internet is just about as quick when on full boost as my 10MB broadband anyway. I think, as already pointed out, if you can access data much faster (what speeds are we...

Throttle problem yet again. Help needed

If blipping or pulling the throttle up solves it, that alone suggests to me it's simply cable/TB related. Nowt else is involved. New TB unit I guess..

Throttle problem yet again. Help needed

If the cable has been replaced, I guess the TB butterfly is sticking. Take it off and give it a damn good seeing to !

    Tree related parking problem

Silly question possibly, but has the car's paint been protected with wax / sealant etc..? A flimsy shelter would blow away or smack into the cars whereas a cover I would think would wear the edges off your paint in no time. They're not really designed to be used outdoors every day... well...

    Home audio help please?

Yeah .. don't do that. One of my 1kg furrballs took out one of my ~10kg floorstanders the other day. Straight over .. was UN-impressed. Seems to be in full working order still, but they seem to (I f**king hope) have left it alone ever since. Stupid furrballs.

Yes. I've been trying to convince myself that I don't need to replace every hifi in the house for the last 2 days. Those Dali speakers look sexy... Damn you, old man !!

Just take them easy for a little while.. let them bed in a little ;) Don't go cranking it up for a little while. Not too much anyway ! I really want a sub, but my stupid tiny cardboard new build terraced neighbours may not agree :dapprove:

    Home audio help please?

Welcome to proper audio ;) What I mean, dearest technophobe, is that the sub is there to do the heavy stuff... leaving the other speakers to do everything else. Just like your car HU when you put a sub in, you then do the lowpass/highpass to ensure the right freqs are going to the right...
  30. TheEvilGiraffe

    Home audio help please?

As you've got a sub, make sure you let the amp know it's got a sub, so the low stuff goes there and there only. Glad you've changed your opinion of RS. They've always been spot on IME.
