SE Detailing bods - Borrowing a PDG ?

I'm not worried by that car at all.. It's a 56 plate OAP mobile (Honda Civic) which he's just aquired .. it has probably never been over 2500RPM in its life, let alone out in the rain. I just want to know what I'm doing with a PDG before I buy one and realise it was a waste of time... I...

    Carlack Glass sealing Kit

Got 9 month old G1 on my bus. Anything over 40mph and woooof it clears away at warp speed :D Made the mistake of spraying some 'windolene' or equivilent on the screen to clean it once as it was hanging.. It then poured and I had to have the wipers on all the time even in light rain...

SE Detailing bods - Borrowing a PDG ?

Err.. I don't necessarily need one. Are they really worth it ? I spose to answer my own question, ask the man who's just shelled out to have a bodyside resprayed... I've got a colleagues car over the Jubilee weekend (1-4 June) so if you don't need it for a couple of days, I'd be very...

SE Detailing bods - Borrowing a PDG ?

Does anyone in the SE (or anywhere else willing to post one out :o) have one I can borrow ?! Thoughts of those who use them regularly would be ace..: Are they worth it ? Has it ever saved your bacon !? I know they're useful .. best to be safe than sorry etc.. I'm sure it's best to check...

Is this a normal drop in next years insurance?

Until you have a claim and end up walking to work :S I'd go FC for the sake of ~£70.

    New sound system. (n00b)

I've never found anything that touches my top end Alpine.. and that includes middle/low end Alpine stuff too. Each to their own tho :o

    New sound system. (n00b)

I'd say no. Once the low stuff is sent to the box in the boot, the fronts are actually pretty damn good!

    New sound system. (n00b)

There's a thread like this every few days in this section. Decent top end Alpine HU and a sub in the boot. All you need. Plenty of change too !

    Removing proper dirt/crud/tar/concrete?

Snowfoam/TFR. I'd probably: APC through a snowfoam lance. Shampoo through the lance. Pressure-wash the lot off. Wash with some decent shampoo/mitt. Tardis/Iron-x then clay... then correct/seal as you wish.

    Mk3 on nervasports

It amuses me that the spacers are wider than the wheels ! Do these come in anything wider than 3" !? :S The contrast of sharp wheels / curvy body lines works. This is why F1s don't work on Mk2 Ph2's but they suit the Ph1's so well ! :o

    Losing 2k in a month?

Silly question but do you ever take it over 3000RPM ? I had a family member's Jazz which had 2k on the clock when I got it and it was the slowest thing I'd driven in a long time. I put a thousand miles on it and gave it merry-hell (when warm, I'm not an animal ;) ) and when he got it back...

Does the lamp actually work ?! Have you thought of just swapping it for a new 'regular' lamp and seeing if that makes any difference ? Are your lights standard ?!

    parada spec 2's

They don't seem to make Paradas in 195/45/16... Toyos are awful. Hankook V12 TBH if it's every day rubber, or http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/tyres/yokohama-advan-neova-ad08-tyre if you want a bit more fun.

    parada spec 2's

They're in 205/45/16 not 195. There's better rubber out there than the Paradas... Is it rubber for fast-road/ track/ every day ?
